2024 is a disaster. So many high end brands have compromised quality for cheap looking, unpolished looks. Using the term vintage is being overhyped, and basically showed a lack of imagination by repeating what has been done over and over again. 2024 Paris shows were dismal.

  • @lovemadeinjapan
    @lovemadeinjapan 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Fashion trends do not exist. We have a fashion manufacturing trend: make more random stuff, for less money, with less quality. You can plot a trenline for this and you will see it is pretty continuous for an entire century.
What does exist is 1) Misconceptions: things like a long boot can look good on a woman (it never does), that skinny jeans/jeggings are clothing (they have no purpose), that pumps should be worn by women (not). That sort of things
    2) Sheep: people buying what TikTok says is a "Trend"
    3) Periods in time that make it harder to buy certain stuff because the sheep don't care for a certain style. Thrifting and having done custom orders with a garment maker can solve inconveniences in that.
    4) Fabric gets worse and worse over time: invest in unmixed pure and natural fibres, and ban polyester and elasthane from your ENTIRE wardrobe, except for bathing clothes which should be 100% polyesther as nylon/lycra is even worse.

I think you may be wrong assuming you add anything new to your wardrobe. Every piece of clothing sold relies on some form of trend. How you style those new pieces are based on your own particular sense of style. We all like to think of ourselves as individuals but we are all influenced by our surroundings and by what’s available.

@@Ellzy1& @cindykelly808. : you are both correct; both thoughts make sense. In the the end, one decides what you want & feel good base on what you see & hve - what’s available, otherwise one would not be able to get an idea on what’s works for oneself, on what looks good or not.. on oneself & that’s even base on moods & occasion. Love your thoughts both. ❤

Large fashion companies are selling more and more clothing. That is why their CO2 emissions are increasing.
To keep these emissions within limits, the number of clothing items that consumers buy must be reduced. According to a German study, a maximum of five new items of clothing per year fit into a sustainable consumption pattern.
Dutch consumers are far above that with an average of ten items of clothing per year.
People with high incomes in particular buy a lot: the 20 percent highest incomes make about 40 percent of fashion purchases, while the 20 percent lowest incomes are responsible for less than 10 percent of purchases.
Efficiency measures, such as electrifying factories and using better materials, do not deliver enough to achieve the 2030 climate goals.
But fashion brands and the European Union have few plans to curb clothing consumption. # Follow the Money
What story do consumers mainly hear about fashion?
'That it is normal or even desirable to buy a lot of clothes and throw them away in no time. The messages we see about fashion are almost always about new things, about what is in and what is out. Implicitly, it's all about the message that things give us status: by wearing the latest trends, you show that you are successful. For example, the fashion industry encourages people to buy huge amounts of stuff, as if all this has no consequences for the planet.'
Who is responsible for that message?
'First of all, the fashion brands. Within those companies it is the marketing and communications departments and the social media teams. But there is also a whole ecosystem around it of people and organizations that spread and strengthen that story: fashion magazines, advertising and marketing agencies, stylists, photographers, videographers, influencers.'

Only two I like are the dark cherry color and denim trends. Everything else is blah

I don't know which is worse--the fashions or the absurd hype about them.

I suppose young people will carry it off but most are awful the color burgundy is a favourite of mine but I don't follow trends . I woukd wear it anyway.

Same here. I've been wearing burgundy for years. It's nice to see more options in stores as it's a good opportunity for us to add to our collection. And when the trend fades, we carry on.

If you want to be serious about this, please stop pronouncing Loewe as /Loh' ee/.
    It's /Loh eh' vay/
    And, Hermes is /Er mess'/, not /Er may'/.

Hi Kathy, thank you for the feedback. I am definitely taking it into consideration after reading this. I did some research and found that Loewe is a Spanish brand, not French as I assumed 🫣. I also appreciate the time you took to write it out. Have a wonderful day!

Please remember to spell designers correctly ( you have in your upper left corner names where you spelled Ralf Lauren 😢, should be Ralph Lauren )
