yep, he could have easily ridden off happily in the sunset with Kind of Blue. But no, he had to make Bitches Brew and get all those musicians together so that they could form their bands like Weather Report, Return to Forever, Mahavishnu. Easily the greatest musical personality of the 20th century.
yes, best musician ,I don't know is he really best trumpet player cause Lee Morgan had some good ton.BUT MAN WHO CHANGE MUSIC WITH SLY STONE , JAMES BROWN....BEST IN 20 CENTURY AND THATS MEAN NOW ALSO !!!
Ye this music is so funky jazz miles was the greatest ever with Kenny garret for me .. and every band that he created was legendary also every musician that he played with ..
Miles was indeed a man of style, innovation, brilliance and of course a talented trumpeter that was truly gifted from above which is our creator. Did we not enjoy his music over the years! Yes, we did time and time again. Rest In Peace Brother Miles; your music will live forever! Well done indeed. I was fortunate to see him perform during the summer of 1990 in Chicago and he was simply a maestro performing with his band and his special lady was sitting on the left side of the stage and he was truly playing for her bend over with his back turn to us and we were simply the guest watching! I will never forget that experience as long as I live.
Saw Miles at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Ca, August, 1988 on a beautiful night. John McLaughlin opened followed by Milton Naciemiento, then Miles. He came out in a gold lame suit with shoes that resembled hockey boots with no blades. Robben Ford was superb on lead guitar. When Miles finished "Human Nature" the crowd went banzai ! The concert ranks near the top of ANY I've ever seen.
What balls the man had, to put together this band after 50 years of innovation and brilliance, the best musician of the 20th century !

Adam Holzman i know this is old and you probably don't even remember but could you shed some light on the lead bass player's set up here?

I never expect to like this but I liked it
Miles kind of lays back on this one and lets the band take center stage.

The band was killing, but Miles seemed a bit disinterested(or maybe agitated).
He had throat problems and couldn’t play properly
