Considering the load, the route, and the Notch, this was probably the most memorable and complicated rail delivery in North America this year. Great job CSRR. And great video trainzrule5.
I wasn't there when it happened, but I wouldn't have much fun. I feel awkward In large rail fan crowds, and that helicopter doesn't help. I try to find secluded spots. Still this is one good catch!
omg so rare why the heck would they take the 573 and both gp-9s through the notch? and why were they going so slow? i would think even though they have a long train that they would have more power to pull that long of a train than that! especially with 3 engines. wow good job
thanks!
Nice flight

this should answer any doubts as to whether this line is ready for a return to freight service
O okay, thanks!
Oh really? It said on the Schnabel England. Well thanks for the comment and correction!
Love the top view of 573 and the sisters... Nice. I live right on the rails... on a double trestle... BUT I WAS WORKING THAT DAY! I was not happy...
Thanks! Were you the couple photographing higher than us? That day was AWESOME! Thanks for the comment!
cool- Rudy was at the throttle of the Geep, cool: at 0:12 you can hear him mentioned. He's one of the veteran engineers on CSRR.
Ya, he is the main engineer for the Craford Notch.
There are 2 p5's and a k5la on this excursion.
Geesh... how did they sight the load on the left safely as it was moving?
Sorry, I should have said that they stopped, and used hydrolics to shift the load 6 inches. Then they contunued. Thanks for the comment!
Your welcome! It was real cool! Really cool that it had a Schnabel car! BBCX 1000. Thanks for the comment!
thanks, that was something seeing a schnabel. But it was cool having a real frieght train pulled through the notch with CSRR locos
super scenic video - a rare catch.....
Thanks for the comment!
Someone who was there took a picture where you were and put it in the TRAINS magazine!
true, it was awkward with tons of peeps, but fun

awesome camera work, I love the overhead shots
You wouldn't happen to know why there were a few passenger cars after the caboose?
I know! It was interesting having so many people seeing only one train! Thanks for another comment!
Nice, was he looking at you?
I wish i was a V.I.P = ) Thanks again! lol
It was fine having it, it was also fun to watch.
@bigboy4016 Ouch, that must have sucked...
Why is it so jittery?
@trainzrule5 Yeah... I was like, wth when I found out that I had to work...
3 day train trip
Really? There were two photographers behind us in green.... I bet it was them. Can you send me the pic please?
Actually I do know why, they were for V.I.P.s who paid to ride in them!
