Tough country to hunt in, but must be nice to be on home land with ya mates. I don't know much about Sika deer, but there are some really nice looking stags out there. I love the excitement bro, there's nothing like the adrenaline rush of shooting deer up close with the bow, and getting it on camera is a real art, well done and congrats on the stag.
Thanks Duncan, haha it was such a rush alright! Thought he was going to run me over if I left it any later 😄 🤣 I've just come out of Vic bush and had a cracking encounter with a mature stag with the bow...
Thanks Rod, cheers for watching! Always lifts the spirits finding a cast or pair of antlers in the bush. Although turns out that head wasn't likely from a hunter but from 1080 poison which was laid about a year ago in the area.
@@MountainMan_NZ How many native critters and farmers livestock die from ingesting that shit I think the powers that be should be ashamed of themselves .
I used to hunt there. I spent years opening tracks up down there. Nice to see its still tight as. It's a big haul out, if you get something but. Congratulations.
Thanks for watching and great stuff taking up the bow. It can certainly be frustrating and rewarding! I've had some fun with my bow in Vic, highlight being an encounter with a nice mature sambar stag! Will share film in time
G'day Rob, thanks for watching (again!). Yeah she was Hansel and Gretel stuff at times. Certainly the last place on mother earth where I'd expect to arrow a stag!! But opportunities weren't too forthcoming in some of the more open terrain, so I had a crack and it paid off 😊 In fact, that tee tree bush is similar to dogwood in Vic and the sika absolutely love hiding and bedding in it during the day. Maybe I should sneak into dogwood thickets with the bow next time
Hi Jamie, what are you doing still awake?Ive got a day off 2morrow,so I’ll be organising my boat for a hunt I’ve got planned at Lake Dartmouth.Enjoy your youth and may you have many more memorable hunts.Cheers, Rob.
@highcountryrob5534 I've just got out of the Vic bush after a long day... won't ruin the film but had some cracking encounters with stags, hinds and managed to draw blood...
She’s thick bush! Like hairs on ya chest 😂. Good stuff with the bow! That bloke that shot stag was one that mistook ya as deer with thermal yer?. Cheating the hunt and dangerous hey
Hahahaaaaaa you had to go there 😄 🤣 my chest hair! Yeah I'm glad no one shot at me while I was on all hands and knees in the scrub that's for sure!! They've become a common tool now (fish finders!).
So good mate, what an awesome result!
