We have a 2020 thor freedom elite 22HE. Its actually nice and yes we have had a few problems but all RV's have issues sooner or later as they are houses on wheels. We comfortably sleep our two youngest children and enjoy the RV all year round except during wiinter. The key to having any RV is knowing your rig inside and out. You can avoid many problems this way and when things do go wrong you will know exactly what to do (most of the time).
So that was actually a lot nicer than the ones I started out looking at. I was originally looking for something in this size for drivability but none of them had ovens. And I do like to cook a lot so that was important to me. I just think the dog and I will need more space. The storage is actually really nice in there. It was a pleasant surprise. The colors are meh but you could do a lot in there to brighten it up without spending too much. Great review! This would be a possible consideration if I had a smaller dog lol
I know, it's surprising, right?! Thor gets a lot of crap but these little guys always make me smile. Compact, simple packages for those looking to get out there! As for the dog, this would be perfect for a weenie, maybe a Cocker Spaniel at most! 😂
Thank you!! And you know, I don't think most of Thor's products are garbage at all, but I do think there's a right price and right person for every product. This one, is absolutely a good deal around $55-$70k, though not so great at $110k+, just in my opinion!
Good morning ! Great review. Seems like it would be quite the rattle trap going down the road 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t like that you can’t recline or side the drivers seat back at all. Corner bed 👎🏼
Good morning! Thanks! And I wish I could drive these a few miles and test that. I wonder because with no slides, more stable walls, shorter chassis, it could be better with noise, but with the gaps in cabinetry... 😬 As as a former corner bed owner, I couldn't agree more. 😂
On the stereo u need to turn the switch on the left as u come in the door. It turns on the cabin batteries which power the stereo and cabin lights and appliances. I own one. Nice for the price !!
You have to take out of Store to use the House Battery to run the Radio. Odd thing but I have a Freedom Elite and it's the same way. I think Thor did this because when camping you can use the cab Radio for the speakers by the bed.
I'm about to start living the rv life. I was already looking at the freedom elite before I found this video. where is the dealership that has them for $65,000? the best deal I've found so far was $104,000 for a 2024 TFE. I just subbed for your experience in this and hope to learn some tips & tricks from you guys. it'll be just me and my pupper boon docking in a city for the time being. I have at most three months to fully occupy the rv.
Oh man, not a chance I would spend that much for a Freedom Elite, you can get a much better deal! This was at Camping World in Mesa, AZ. Personally, I would start with General RV and La Mesa RV after you've narrowed down the specific floorplan you want, see that model in the Freedom Elite, Four Winds, Chateau and Coleman, since they're all about exactly the same give or take a detail or two. Then get their absolutely best price (likely around ~45% or so off MSRP) and shop that price around, but definitely give some consideration to dealers within 100 miles of you. These units will certainly be in the shop a lot for the first year or two, so hopefully there's a good dealer around you with decent availability! Thankfully, these units are simpler overall, less fancy bells and whistles, so less crap to break, but still nice to have a shop to go to!
@CozyLivingMachine ok thank you. I'm in New york, so the options around here are very limited. I've been to two camping worlds in New jersey so far and will be visiting a few more places in Pennsylvania and upstate ny. I really like the freedom elite because it's basic and has what I'm looking for for the most part. My main concerns are bed and shower. Thank you for responding.
The shower miser is a big surprise. First one I've seen that isn't on a diesel pusher. Listen, we have a problem. I'm working hard roasting custom coffee and you keep posting forcing me to take a break. Never mind, I enjoy it.
Isn't it?! We've seen it on a few gassers and trailers and this is definitely a really nice feature! And I'm just here to entertain for your coffee drinking. 🤣🤣
This is the floor plan I’ll be living in soon! Perfect for one & her 75 lb dog! I lived in a 31’ w/2 big dogs in 2000-2002 & it was just HUGE!
The colors make this feel bigger and more open
Agreed, it helps being much brighter in there and large windows, even in such a small space!

You did a hell of a review on this RV! Thanks for the in depth look at this model.

Where do you get seat covers for these?
thank you for the brutely honest review.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Congrats on 5 K subscribers !!! The growth seems to be exponential... Do you still think that Thor RV's are garbage after seeing this one ?

Great video. So are you hanging at the dealer until the new rig shows up?
Thanks! And not yet. I'm still in the Phoenix area until Friday, then heading south to Tucson for the pickup. Just waiting for Emma!
@@CozyLivingMachine Good Luck and safe travels.
@@josephhartman2343 Thank you!!
Is the price of this motorhome
How many miles per gallon of diesel?
It's gasoline for all Ford E-Series chassis like these, but about 7-9mpg, depending on speed and terrain!
We just looked at a 2018 freedom elete 24HE. Lady wants 55k 10k miles. Quality of this stuff is scary.
