My favorite homesteader. Such a great loss for our community. Thank you Papa Charles for all you taught our community & for being a fine patriot for this beloved nation. Fly high & I’ll see you once again when I get where I’m going! Love, Patara
Thank you Patara for introducing Mr. Charles to us. He was very much a Papa to so many. God bless you and your family. I'm praying for complete healing for all y'all. P.S. thank you for sharing your skills and wisdom with us too. I'm a newbie, but I now have a stocked backup pantry because of you. ♥️
I started watching him because of you Patara! He was a true gem! Sorry for your loss of such a great friend! P.s. praying for you and your family. Get well soon
What a wonderful man who loved the land and loved eating healthy! Only knew him through this channel about 8 mo. I will miss him because he resembled so much of my father from AL. May his truths he taught live on and bless his family.
I looked on TH-cam for how to grow Dakion radishes and found OAG. Then I saw someone commenting directly to him saying, "I know you are no longer here." I then saw this memorial clip. I cried from the very beginning to the end as well as writing this comment. What a GOOD, GOOD MAN this was/is. His family and friends and followers here must be very proud of him. I never met an unkind gardener. Thank you for all you GAVE TO THE REST OF US. Blessings, Sherry

As a kid OAG's family lived just a few blocks from our family in the little town of Bunker Hill, IN. None of us had much in those days but we still had our pride. OAG's brother, Arnold, was a classmate in school and someone to ride bikes around our little town. I still communicate with Arnold and Joyce, periodically, mostly with Joyce on Facebook. Appreciated OAG's thoughts on gardening and use of nature's bounty for good health. Will miss his regular posts on TH-cam. I also am thankful for his many years of service to our country. My heart aches. He was such a kind and generous man. He helped me SO much when I had my knee replaced in 2017. Insisted on sending me comfrey salve that truly made a huge difference in my recovery. He also sent me comfrey starts that I still grow today. He was adored by so many!! Such a beautiful soul. He will be greatly missed. Thank you Charles. We love you. My deepest condolences to his family. God be with you. ~Lisa
Hi Lisa, I think and know all our 💔 aches for this loss... Will be missed. Did OAG give you a recipe for the salve.? Could you share it w Us as a Memento 🌱 of Our Precious friend...🌈
He lived life the best way, passing down what could benefit others while still learning himself. He is a creative soul and I wish anyone like him could be here as long as their heart desired. He really was a rich soul and I enjoyed watching him talk health and gardening.
I first met Charles when he contacted me and wanted to talk about rhododendrons. What a wonderful man he was and he touched so many lives. He had a great attitude and a can do spirit. He was such an inspiration and a real testament to growing old gracefully. You will be missed greatly Charles. May God bless you and your family.

I am so grateful for him sharing his gardening and canning knowledge...that he plunged into the technology of TH-cam in order to help folks learn from his decades of growing wisdom. If it weren’t for OAG, I would have never thought to plant, grow, harvest, can and finally make dinner from pinto beans to name one. Thank you so much Mr. Charles...you were like the Uncle I never had to learn from. Be at Peace.
Thank you for keeping this channel open. I've just recently found OAG, but it's obvious he was a lovely soul. I learn so much from his practical advice. Blessings.

When our elders transition, we lose a library of information. Thankfully he was a TH-cam content creator. We have his library forever. Thank you, OAG, for sharing with us. It's time to rest now. Be at peace. 💙
Thank you for sharing these photos. He sure is a blessing to a lot of people still today!! I know I’m thankful I found his videos. He has taught me so many helpful things. I get all his videos up on my TV and watch them after church. Thank you and God bless the whole family!
Watching OAG talk about gardening made me feel like I was spending time with my grandfather again. Thanks to him helping me grow the best sweet potatoes and loads and loads of beans to feed our family. . Such a wise , caring man. May you rest in eternal love OAG😢😢 I'm really gonna miss you..

😓😓😓😓😓 I had only begun watching this man’s wisdom here on TH-cam for about a year. Some people just leave huge caverns when they leave. OAG was such a blessing. I will miss you and am so grateful for your videos!
This hurt my heart when I heard that he had passed. He was always so kind and willing to help and teach. I will cherish our conversations, rest well sir.
Thank you for the amazing wisdom you have shared with us and your awesome videos about what actual healthy living is with real results and for teaching us young people self reliance. I will always lovingly embrace your wisdom and be forever grateful to you Old Alabama Gardener . Fly High ! ♥️♥️♥️ Peace , Pamir Turan .
If I feel this bad and I never met him, I could old imagine how his family is feeling… When I think about planting my onions or what OAG have going on I could always pull up a video… He will be missed very much… my prayers are with you
My grandma always said that Nov. 2nd is the only day of the year that the doors of the heavens are open, my grandma and you left us on Nov. 2nd. Well deserved reward to both of you because you were outstanding persons. OAG we will miss you and your videos. Rest on peace.
I’m so sorry to hear he passed. He was such a wealth of knowledge and a kind and humble man. It was a wonderful thing watching his videos. He gave the most wonderful advice for gardening. I hope there’s a garden in heaven that he can tend. We were all blessed for knowing and watching him. Godspeed and my condolences.🙏🙏❤️💕
So glad we have his videos so there is a glimmer of hope for future farmers. Although very few could ir will work as hard as he did!! As he said most younger people cant follow me around all day!
I am at a loss - I am so sad because I will miss OAG terribly! It’s like he was a grandfather to me. And also I am happy I found him on line. He is leaving an amazing legacy. I am thankful that anytime I want to visit him and or learn something amazing all I have to do is look him up! I appreciate him more than he will ever know. ❤️🙏
Oh I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a generous and inspiring man. Vibrant, charismatic and wise. He taught me a lot of what I know about gardening. He will be greatly missed. Sending love to your family. Xx
My condolences and Sympathy to his family. OAG taught us all so much. All the tips and tricks to make our gardening experiences the best they could be. His gardens and flowers at his AL home were Just stunning. The Iris's so Beautiful! Now the Lord has called him back home. God Bless you Charles, you are an Angel. Thank You for Everything Sir. ❤✝️🙏👍
I’m so sad to hear about his passing. What a wonderful teacher he was, I learned so much about gardening from him. His family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers. RIP OAG.
I live in the UK but originally from Jamaica 🇯🇲. OAG reminded me of my great grandparents. So, loved to watched his videos. May OAG find a resting place in the arms of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
This hurts my heart . I thought about him many times and wondered if he was ok. Great man that gave so much to so many. RIP OAG and prayers of peace for the OAG family. Thank you for sharing him with us.
I just started watching his videos. His videos have so much of the wisdom that he has left for us. Thank you OAG for sharing this with so many of us. Your knowledge will help the rest of us to survive. May God be with your family.
Immediately I am in utter sadness, and tears falling down my cheeks, can barely read the comments out loud to my husband. Oh my heart.... Prayers for every family member he left behind. Love to you all. I loved this man and he will be missed terribly. God bless everyone who's grieving. May he be taking care of God's precious garden in heaven. Till we meet again.
Thank you OAG, thank you to his family. He was my honorary grandpa since 2020. He's taught me so much. I will probably always have my fermented garlic in 🍯 honey. I can imagine his heavenly garden. The man is irreplaceable. He will continue to touch and teach us through his videos. I'm so grateful to have met him, even if it was only online. Blessings to your family 💖
This got to me😪. I really adored OAG, he made me feel like he was talking to me . And OAG helped to encourage me to start fermenting Garlic and honey. And I cherished his cooking & showing us all that He wishes he could share it with us! I’ll see you OAG in God’s Kingdom🙏.
Same here. I just found him and his page. Subscribed and liked. This breaks my heart. But I will watch his videos cause I felt he is valuable from tat one video. Charles, thank you for this channel. I can't wait to watch all your videos.
We used many of his methods and hints in our northern garden, too! Our onions were planted this past Spring using his methods, and we had our best harvest EVER. *sad* that he's gone, *blessed* that I knew him through this community.
I’m still watching his videos I love listening to him ! He was the kind of person I would have liked to work with and have as a neighbor ! His legacy will live on !
I will be going back through every single video he posted. I will pass his knowledge that I learned to many others along the way. Thank you OAG for everything. 🇺🇸salute🇺🇸
This series of videos will save many lives and he blessed us all with generations of growing skills in his noggin. Thank God he was instructed by the divine to share and motivated to do such easy to follow instructions. Learned a ton from him. Rest easy
I just stumbled across this Man's vids 2 days ago and have been enjoying them. Very sad to read that he has passed! He gave loads of great health info. that I am sure has helped MANY. Rest in peace. Sir. You will certainly be missed. And thank you for all the great advice!
Because of OAG I started planting more vegetables. It was always the store bought tomatoes and cucumber plants. I started so many broccoli, bok choy cabbage and many other types of veggies that were never available in my local store. I even bought comfrey to fertilize my plants. I learned so much, that I began to focusing on gardening that I now sell organic veggies from my back yard. Thank you for being a wonderful teacher. I always looked forward on what plant tutorial he was goin to post. I loved seeing updates from his garden. And I especially loved learning about new recipes. I'm goin to miss him so much. I started watching his videos back in 2015. Though I never met him, I felt that I knew him as a person just from his content. Please Rest in Peace. You'll never know who I was. But I knew you. Condolences to the family. One day we'll meet in the good place. Thank you ❤️
Oh my, the world has lost such a sweet caring soul. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. I’ve learned a lot from him, as I am a beginner gardener. My deepest sympathies go out to his family. Thank you for posting this tribute and giving us all a little peek into his life. He will be missed.❤️
OMGoodness I enjoyed this so much but the one where that said, “wish I could share this with you” made me tear up. He was such a fine man and obviously into gardening his entire life. He always made me smile and taught many of us so much. God bless his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.😢🙏
I just found this channel and as an Alabama gardener was so excited then I saw the memorial video and watched as a stranger with tears streaming down my face. Mr. OAG reminds me of all the OAGs in my own family who have gone on to be with the Lord. Their love of the land and the families, animals and plants they raised on it. What a beautiful well lived life and a lasting legacy. Thank you for sharing this beautiful memorial with us as a reminder that each day we too are building a legacy. What a wonderful role model Mt. OAG was.
His wonderful knowledge of gardening was exceeded only by his deep kindness when reaching out to his followers. Many hugs to his immediate family and his many fans around the world.
My heart just sunk. And I’m crying out of control. I love this man for being so knowledgeable and sharing with the world. Me and my moma love watching his channel! He has taught us so much!!! Me and moma use collagen and garlic honey!! I’m sad but happy at the same time he is a spirit that will live forever 💚 🕊🕊🕊🕊
@@carmenmariacortesmarin2664 Look at the list of OAGs videos you will find many good ones including the two you asked about. I just started watching them and I also plan on making the garlic/honey , the collagen and his energy drink from ginger. Good luck
I just found his channel today and was looking forward to binge watching his videos to help improve my health. I am crying too, it just breaks my heart what this world has lost in wisdom with his passing. I hope his channel stays up so I can still watch his older videos. Condolences and prayer for his family, you could just tell he was sweet, kind and loved his family, how precious!
Watching him brought back so many memories of being in the garden with my grandma and grandpa. My whole family sends condolences to you and your family. He has left a great legacy through the knowledge he has passed on not just to his family, but to all of us all over the world.
Oh my goodness. I just came on here to get prepared for next year's garden and thought I'd check out OAG's channel. I'm so sad he passed. He was such an incredible teacher. Wow, rest in peace.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I just found his dandelion tea video, and subscribed to his channel. Then I saw his memorial, and I felt a great loss. Life is short! I will be watching more of his videos in honor of a great life lived.
He will be missed. So much knowledge and so blessed he shared his knowledge here on his channel for those to learn and for more to learn in the future. ❤️
So very sorry to hear this. Charles inspired and gave me confidence to start canning. He taught me what I know about gardening. It is s rare in life to meet someone like him that was so willing to sincerely help others. My life is better because our paths crossed. So blessed that I got to meet him in person and thank him for all his help. Rest In Peace Sir.

He was a national treasure and I am thankful to be able to watch his videos and glean more gardening knowledge. May he rest in heavenly peace. Thank you also to the poster of this memorial video.
A beautiful soul has started his journey to the next level. When we catch up with him next he'll be there to show us around and keep on loving and teaching us just as he did here. I will miss him. He was a very kind man and showed me patience when I asked questions on any of his videos. Safe travels, my friend and thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Oh dear, I am so sad to hear of his passing. He crossed my mind about a week ago and then today he showed up on my feed. I immediately clicked on and thats when I saw the memorial and my heart just sank. I loved his wisdom and learned so many wonderful things from him. I have honey garlic on my counter top right now from his video and its the BOMB!! So delicious!! RIP OAG
I was stunned when I came across this video! It seemed as though he would be with us forever. My husband and I were late comers to gardening. It was OAG's videos we turned to most. I couldn't help but tell him, that he always brought a smile to my face. He made us both, all the happier and more informed for having watched him. May God comfort you in your time of grief.
I sense that we've lost a man who was great. We may be born equal but the things he did, the problems he solved make him a prime member of the greatest generation. And I thank you, his family for telling his story and keeping these valuable videos online. I refer to them all winter to plan my New Zealand gardens. Words fail me. I'll just say may God bless. Until we all meet in the great by and by, be well!
🕊🌻🌾 Mr OAG was such a beautiful man with a beautiful soul. I want to send my deepest condolences to you, his family & his friends. May God bless each of you with His peace & His strength. ✝️ Thank you for sharing the photos throughout his life. What a beautiful marriage - absolute true love! 💞 And such an amazing family! Wonderful people! 🌷 He reminds me so much of my Dad who was born in 1943, (who sadly only lived to 68 yrs old.) He too was in military & farmed vegetables for a living. It was very difficult work but i wouldn't trade all those days in the fields with Dad for anything now! Mr. OAG & my Dad even stood alike. ♡ Thank you again for the photos. Very nice of you. ♡ I just found his channel yesterday & his video about squash borers. I'm looking forward to watching his videos & learning much. I would've loved just to shake his hand. He had so much knowledge & concern for others. Very, very sweet. 🕊 I'm deeply saddened to learn of his passing but I'm sure he's with Our Good Lord & watching over his family & friends as well. Take care & thanks again for having his videos available. 🌻🍅🧅🌶🧄🍀With Much Love, Angie from Western NC. 🐢🌼

We used many of his methods and hints in our northern garden, too! Our onions were planted this past Spring using his methods, and we had our best harvest EVER. *sad* that he's gone, *blessed* that I knew him through this community.

Donna smith, good morning how are you doing?

Thank you for your kind words Mary, hope you are having a wonderful day going with your family?
My heart just sunk. And I’m crying out of control. I love this man for being so knowledgeable and sharing with the world. Me and my moma love watching his channel! He has taught us so much!!! Me and moma use collagen and garlic honey!! I’m sad but happy at the same time he is a spirit that will live forever 💚 🕊🕊🕊🕊
Sorry to bother you, but would it be at all possible for you to give me information about the collagen and garlic honey? It will be much appreciated.
@@carmenmariacortesmarin2664 Look at the list of OAGs videos you will find many good ones including the two you asked about. I just started watching them and I also plan on making the garlic/honey , the collagen and his energy drink from ginger. Good luck

May God comfort you in your time of grief.
his joy was apparent for all to see. My God's loving comfort be with all his family
He'll be missed. I regret not ever getting to meet him in person. He leaves a beautiful legacy of family and friends.
Well done, OAG
My deepest condolences to the OAG’s family. His contributions to his TH-cam family was priceless. Thank you OAG.
I am just now seeing this. We are all diminished. Rest in peace OAG, thanks a lot for all the wisdom you shared. To his family- thank you for sharing this wonderful person with the rest of us!
