Omg, me too. One friend told me I must not know what envy is and tried to educate me on the difference between friendship and evil eyes. It was like she was at the point of taunting me with her jealousy because for years I was not “getting it”. I always saw it but I thought if I helped her see her own qualities and encouraged her to see I didn’t think my life was so ‘perfect’ and she felt like I was being fake. I had to do that with family members so much I just thought some people just need to see what beauty I see in them but some don’t care about what they have to offer, they want what you have. I even had one friend who married a super millionaire but her husband admitted he had his eyes on me and she started shading me because he was richer than my man but my man was her celebrity crush and I didn’t even know she ran one of his fan pages. I was always so happy for her but she had his secret all on her shoulder. It got so toxic, it went from matching shoes to Rolex’s to her getting surgery to look like she was my twin and that is where it got scary. I would post pictures of my photoshoot on my fan pages and she would copy them with her photographer and post on her personal page and say things like “ I’m the upgraded version with a bigger ring.” I was like huh? And she used to make comments about his ex being An exotical and I used to wonder why that mattered and she with her new face and bleach reveal I was like omg, she envied me for the things I could do nothing about. All that to say, I 💯% agree. It is so toxic and we will not ever get to the root of the heart to understand.

I definitely am lol 😂😂 my maternal aunt tries but she doesn’t hold a candle to me. lol she’s a beautiful cocoa brown woman but she has very low self esteem and when you tell her she’s beautiful she don’t know how to respond. My mom said her sister has always had a complex about her skin tone. I fluctuate between 350, 360, 370 in Fenty beauty foundation. Because of this im always being questioned if I’m bleaching. Ive never bleached and my whole body it a beautiful palette of tan brown colors. She’s been In competition with me since my birth back in the summer of 1977. To me I’ve never tried to compete with anyone but people have always tried to out me every chance they could. In my baby book she had the nerve to write “ this book could not be published without the star Sheri herself. Then she had the nerve to also tell me in my early 30’s in front of my mom , “I hated you because you were born and you took my place”. I just looked at her and laughed saying I’m sorry you feel that way but you’ve got to be kidding me. I’ve been intimidating people since birth. It’s just weird. I’ve also been at the forefront of my friend group’s since junior high and even then people were mean spirited, jealous and vindictive to me for no reason at all. I would give the shirt off my back and shoes off my feet to anyone. 😢
The most important thing I’ve learned my 47 years on this earth is that I’m not responsible for how others feel nor am I responsible for how the feel about themselves.

My aunt even treats her daughter bad and she’s also has the same skin tone as I do. I feel bad for her because she has to deal with a jealous mother. I think some moms resent their daughters because either they are more beautiful, smarter or more talented they ever were. About a month ago, my cousin and I got together for a cooking session. I was teaching her how to cook. Her mother invites herself over once she found out we’re cooking. She shows up when the food is done and her daughter asks how’s the food mom? Can you guess what she responds? She says, “oh it’s ok” my cousin looked away so sad and disappointed. My aunt can’t cook herself and goes to show her jealousy. I’ve been trying to help my cousin to further grow her exotical tax so that she will not only beautiful, smart but also great in the kitchen. 💜

7:30 the today show situation is a great example of both parties being right. Kelly has a right to want superstar treatment AND the today show has a right to humble her and not give it to her. She didn’t have to come on the show and hence she walked off. I think this was a great example of everyone treating everyone else how they want to be treated. And I don’t think that was a bad thing. I think Kelly is a big enough star to want the big dressing room and I don’t think she wrong for walking off. But the today show didn’t think of her as a big enough star to offer the big dressing room. This might have more to do with her team. Mariah Carey for instance is known for diva treatment and makes all kinds of crazy requests and won’t appear if they aren’t met.
