Thanks - very nice to see twikers - I lived in Twickenham from (1978 to 1 987) - played golf at the (9 hole golf course - and later next door at Fulwell - I still have very fund memories of my years in Twickenham - I met Harry Wilson at the 9 hole golf course and he was instrumental in the fact that I started golf at age 38 years old and in 3 years I was on single numbers - with Harry being my most important instructor - Harry gave me the Ben Hogan Golf Classic - it took (3 years to understand this masterpiece reading AND STUDYING AS IF FOR AN EXAM - DAILY) - IN 1978, I MET PETER BUC HAN - WHILE HE WAS AN ASSISTANT AT THE (9 NINE HOLE GOLF COURSE - PETER IS NOW THE PROFESSIANAL AT Strawberry Hilll golf club - (NEXT DOOR TO NWICKENHAM) - HE HAS BEEN (HEAD PRO) THERE FOR VERY MANY YEARS - Very pleasant memories indeed -
Glad to hear about your golfing adventures in Twickenham: it really is a delightful place, wouldn't complain if I lived there! It doesn't feel like you're still in London when you are there, even though you'd have to get past Heathrow just to escape into Berkshire/Surrey. I'm always discovering so many enjoyable places whilst on these ringing trips...
I agree! It's declined a bit in the South too. Train companies make the stupid decision of retiring stock (which is still perfectly capable of doing their job, e.g. the Southern 455/8) without ordering a replacement for it, or without cascading a set of stock from another company. Things would be very different if I was the Secretary of State for Transport...

Simple answer. It's on a hill. Twickenham (and pretty much everywhere else around it for about 5 miles) isn't.
why can't trains up north have more carriages instead of either 1 or 2. (Non Main lines). Cool video
