The particles are so tricky for me! I love all the vocabulary quizzes, but these grammar quizzes are good too. Forces me to read faster and tell to gather context!
My bf and I often watch anime in Japanese (with subtitle on). We can read some of the words in Hiragana/Katakana in the video and somehow can translate some of it (as it appears a lot in anime), however we could not use the grammar correctly. This video helps me learn a lot, thank you a lot for this!!.

Heyy. I LOVE Japanese culture and I’m new here. I know how to read and write Hiragana easily, but I haven’t learned grammar yet. I NEED HELP!! First, why is は being used as わ in, わたし は instead of わたし わ?
I learned that the "や" was used at the end of certain words to indicate a store, for example: "肉屋(にくや)=butcher/meat shop", only in writing can I differentiate because of the kanji, but in pronunciation how can I not get confused?
As a beginner, I went though this video and I was surprised how much I understand and know already. It is so encouraging.

But you used a verb in the sentence because of the ます

In Japanese grammar, は has function as topic maker but わ not. When は is used as topic maker, the pronunciation becomes わ.
