I love your videos so much! It’s funny how I see a little of my decorating style in almost every video you’ve made. Wabi Sabi is definitely in areas of my living space, in the appreciation of natural materials and found objects from nature, as well as the lime washed walls. So beautiful and soothing.

Hello Margaret, so lovely to read that you find a little of your decorating style in each video! That is great to hear as we definitely do put our little twist on it when it comes to selecting the photos and sharing our own. I too enjoy the look of the lime washed walls. Have a great weekend xx

I've just watched this SUPERBE video: it took me almost one hour to watch it 🤭, stopping every minute to learn those wise tips, and appreciate every single take (and printing it for a new album) and ...So glad to find out that our HOME is full of WABI SABI founds (I've just mended a very old AUBUSSON PILLOW that I've got from a great friend with pieces of an old english linen fabric, and ...it's fabulous 👌!!!) I do also KINTSUGI all the time, and...also so happy to find out that all my huge abstract paintings with oxidate fabric collages are totally WABI SABI !! Thank you very much for this superbe CLASS, glad to share w/ my 🎨 artist friends !!

Love your videos, Suzie! So informative and inspiring! I'm in the wabi sabi/Belgian/warm minimalism (Vervoordt) camp but I also love styles which frequently seem incompatible with that look, like dark, moody atmospheric (but not Gothic/Victorian or bro-cave) and neoclassical/Parisian (Saladino.) I want to do a refresh of my small 1960s condo and I've having a hard time visualizing a dark, masculine, warmly minimalist space w/neoclassical elements lol. I'm not sure I can make Vervoordt and Saladino "speak" to each other--and on my IKEA budget, too! 😁 Anyway, love the vids and will watch more of them!

    • @suzieandersonhome
      @suzieandersonhome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hello Gregg, thanks for your lovely feedback. I resonate with you in the style you love, I adore the Belgian/warm minimalism however in some rooms I could certainly love the richer more moody approach that adds a welcoming comfort. If you have a stand alone room that could be decorated in a darker, moodier palette it would create a lovely contrast to the major rooms of your house. If you look beyond Ikea and look to vintage/second hand stores, flea markets and ebay you can collect some beautifully well made antiques/vintage finds that have a history that adds a certain unique soul to your space. It is also likely you would find some gorgeous handcrafted ceramics/objects of art for your more warm minimalistic decor. Hope that helps! Have a great Christmas! Suzie x

Hello Ting Ting. Thanks for your feedback. I think that elements of the Wabi Sabi style can be incorporated into any space. It's about being conscious of the pieces you select and the space in between. Not overcrowding or having clutter is the starting point and living with what you love. Serene muted colours, handmade unique pieces and natural textures. I hope that helps! Have a lovely Festive Season. Suzie x

Hello Aleks, absolutely you can. The fundamental styling elements (our 5 L’s) apply to any living/entertaining spaces from a picnic, caravan, apartment through to an English manor house! Creating a space that resonates with you, with thought and care has amazing results in how you feel in a space. We hope
Our videos show a range of abodes with a focus on the elements that are transferrable to all budgets. In fact some of my favourite ever pieces were found, foraged or picked up in flea markets. Have a wonderful week. Suzie xx

@@peterliebe829 It seems like you may be in the wrong corner of the internet if you find interior design nothing more than useless decorative gimmicks 😅xx

You don't find that your surroundings add or subtract anything from your state of mind and sense of relaxation and home?
You must be a strange fish indeed 😮
For wabi sabi you don't have to have lots of space -- it's more what you put in your space, and the idea is that you don't have to spend a lot of money and fill your place with expensive stuff.
You could find your furnishings and decor from thrift stores and opportunity shops and it could be wabi sabi 😊

Please improve the sound quality. Sounds like you're in a well on TV. I always look forward to new videos, except for sound quality.

Is that the same as wasabi???? 😆😄😂🤭🇬🇧

Similar sounding, but wabi sabi translates as "Wisdom in natural simplicity" and wasabi is a Japanese horseradish, particularly taken with sushi! I love both! Suzie x

A Wabi Sabi Interior should look poor and expensive - It has no future or past. Wabi Sabi is also one of the most expensive designs to create.

It's a great point that Wabi Sabi interiors are often about finding beauty in the imperfect and simple, which can lead to a unique and curated look xx

Ok,... time to move on. Your video's are beginning to all blend into one long drawn out video. Your advice never changes, showing the same objects several times. Nothing new and exciting happening. So time to cut you lose....
