Decorating homestead shouldn’t be expensive imo (I think the same thing about guild halls). It should be easy and fun to get into. The vast majority of the decorations should be cheap, and then there can be some expensive and harder to get decorations. And really you build cool stuff there because you want to show it to people, but that’s hard to do because the player cap is so low. People stopped using guild halls so they stopped developing them. I hope the same doesn’t happen to homesteads.
I don't agree that crafting homestead decorations is too expensive. What you're complaining about is that you're losing a lot of POTENTIAL gold every time you craft a decoration, which is true. However, there's no need to min/max gold profit all the time, it's just a game, players should do what they enjoy. If you don't burn all your refined homestead mats for gold, you'll have plenty to craft with. Most veteran players are sitting on piles of mats they can convert to homestead materials without buying from the trading post, and farming more as needed is also easy. The homestead economy is balanced for solo players and decorations are perfectly attainable.
@@JoshuaPTFan sure veterans are, but most players dont have the amount of gold we have and they will be insanely discourage when they realize ir works this way, i know i would if i was a player like that
Most people are also very surprised about the liquid gold they have once they look into their materials. You easily forget how much value you get from just fun random activites. I started a fresh account last year for fun. Since I had barely any QoL upgrades, I was forced to open the bags and empty the tiny materials storage I had and the gold just kept building up while I barely did any high profitable things like daily fractals.
I think you’re looking at it backwards tbh. It’s not taking away from homestead decorating, it’s giving players more options, so people who really don’t care about decorating now have a use for homestead materials. I do mean in this in the kindest most empathetic way possible… Being upset that a material can be both crafted or convert to gold might be a ‘time to touch some grass’ moment 😬a decorateable video game house is definitely not supposed to stress you out.
I think its fine. You pick one or the other to work on. some like decor more then leggys, some like leggys more decor. some like just collecting gold. and while i love collecting gold i dont think ANET or the game should pander to us. the game is the game, sell what you dont need to get what you do need. you pick one or the other its always been that way in my eyes.
I was unaware there is a trick / bug you can do to get double refinements!
Here it is if you wanna do it!

just work a part time job at this point and buy the gold, chances are its easier
something is wrong with your math. max homestead fiber you can get per week is 1600. just do the double ones.
you mean the black market ones?
@@darensgw2 nope, those that give you 2 fibers per exchange.
@@biomagic8959 that sounds like an exploit no?
Price is already down to 98s which will tank even more next week. I don't think this will be viable.
it will ALWAYS be viable just out of the nature and necessity of the material
already down do 40-50s. Still gets some cash, but not too crazy. same with other shards, as always
the price is down to 80 silver now. lol....
@@AMVmushroom yeah it will be down way more tomorrow because of the reset of the week, but it will always be worth crafting anyways
