WordPerfect made it so easy and it amazes me that Word doesn't have something as basic as this instead of forcing you to create tables and all the stuff that goes into them.
Well, in answer to your question as to why one would need to split a page, my reason is that, as a translator, I can have the text that needs translating in the upper half and write my translation in the lower half. Opening two pages for the purpose is inconvenient as the margins eat up a lot of the writing space.
I'm making a Christmas card. The top half will be the picture with the bottom half for the message. I will print on photo paper, fold the card in half and mail them out. Thanks! Very helpful.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Lisa. This was very helpful. The use of the text box to create 2 equal boxes is what I needed to insert flyers (2 languages) in preparation for double-sided printing. Continued blessings! :)
Just choose custom page size and set height to 8.85". width will be set to 8.27" already, if not just change. this is your a4 size split into 2 vertically
Someone might want to split a page in half to make an obituary, a bi-fold pamphlet or even a flyer that they want to duplicate on both sides in order to save paper.
@@LisaDoe Sorry to be such a pest. I have a picture for a book cover I made for a paperback. I did the text box idea yet I'm unable to save the text on the picture to the text box so I can make an eBook cover.
@@frankredford9047 On some versions of word you cannot save a text box as an image so you need to use the WORDART icon and customise your text accordingly. You should then be able to save everything as a JPEG image and place it on the left hand side of the page.
@@LisaDoe Thank you, Lisa. You have been very kind in taking your time to assist me. I'm not familiar with that yet will do my best to become such. Wishing you the remainder of a great day.
I'm trying to create mail merge postcards. I apparently can't use text boxes that contain "next record" in a text box to advance to the next address and person. Any suggestions?
Very helpful Lisa, which would be the better way to use this split in the case where I need a document in original lenguage and the other half on the translated portion, based on your presentation I am not sure there is a posibility to have side-by-side pages contrasting the content in two different lenguages, thanks for the help!
Dear Lisa, Would like to seek an advise why after I have split the page, I can't see the split of the two evenly distribute row section at Print Preview? I can only see the top split section at Print Preview Only?

I have a paperback cover that I want to use only the right half for an Ebook cover. How would I do that, please. And thank you. Frank
If it's just text you want on the cover, then you can use the TEXT BOX method and simply place it on the right hand side leaving the left free.

I would use text boxes as they're so versatile and you can place them wherever you need them.
splitting a page can be used for a title page and a table of contents page instead of two full length pages.
Go to 5:19
The simplest way to divide the page equally is to draw a line (horizontal or vertical) and position it in the center (middle) of the page.
For typing practice
im trying to split my resume info in 2 with bullets just the skills to save paper or put it all in one page .
When I printed the pages off the came out doubled sided but on side was upside down??
Sorry I ment when I printed it off it came out double sided and upside down. 🥲

Dear Lisa,
Would like to seek an advise why after I have split the page, I can't see the split of the two evenly distribute row section at Print Preview?
I can only see the top split section at Print Preview Only?
Not sure, does it still print the way you want it to?
How to insert two different pages no. for the same page and henceforth
how do I apply this to multiple pages?
you would have to use the 'column' technique :)
hi, can you send pdf copy ?
I appreciate the content but this video is entirely too long. I found another tutorial and the split page took less than one minute.
But did they show you how to do it three different ways?
what if i want 4 ?
Use columns or text boxes.
