    I realize these videos are two years old, but grateful they are here as it's making learning all the nuances of each tool much easier. So "Thank You!"

    Thanks a lot, I've come from Autocad, and really love the dive you take into the basics, as some things work fundamentally different, and it's nice to have this knowledge to start with. Also really appreciate the short format - very very useful for those who don't need much explaining but just craving for the sweet distilled information ;)

    I've been using Sketchup for years, but I'm surprised to learn something new almost every time I watch one of your videos. Didn't know (or forgot) about using + and - to change the number of sides of a circle.

    Much easier to deal with circles that are divisible by four so a point is at each axis. And keep the points aligned with the axis. Don't rotate them unless you have a specific need. Also a very small circle (or arc) like around a millimeter will complain about too many segments for a given radius. To work around that use the measure tool to rescale the model a hundred times larger and then rescale it back to regular size after the circles are made.

    Thank very much. Always enjoy your presentations and learn something new each time. Would love something on drawing planes (circles or rectangles) perpendicular to a line. The CF tools are no longer compatible with the latest SU and other solutions are poor or in the same boat.

    If I don't want to do the math in my head (or a calculator) is it possible to enter the circle radius as the desired diameter/2 ? So 14.8675/2 or √3 for example.

    so if you leave it 24 sides and my cnc machine goes to cut it will it be a smooth circle or with 24 sides that you can see?

    hi. newbie here. may i ask how to select any axis for my circle? when i select the circle tool, my circle is always blue. how do i change it to red or green at will?

    Is there a way to create a circle from 2 points instead of from the center?

    The cord for each section of a 24" radius circle is 6.25", not 24". Good video even with the tiny error.

    Please Trimble, create a tool to draw "real" circles.

    • @sntgchns
      @sntgchns 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      theoretically, you can't draw a real circle, even in sketchup. The circles you draw will always be approximations, as if it were a fractal, each line can always be divided by two to infinity. The number pi is one of the biggest mysteries for science

    • @Kislashe
      @Kislashe 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sntgchns Ok, it means that Pi is a disjunctive sequence in wich the story of Trimble creating a "real" circle tool like autocad is already written.

    • @sntgchns
      @sntgchns 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kislashe Let's put it like this, you can draw a circle, but you will never see a real circle. You can see a circle that will always have the number of sides that you define. Nobody, not even autocad can against infinity.

    • @MrKen-wy5dk
      @MrKen-wy5dk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kislashe You know what a "disjunctive sequence" is (I don't) but you don't know the difference between "witch" (a lady who flies around on a broom) and "which"?
