I want to truly thank you for your videos and guidance. I am in Berat right now. Your videos gave me confidence to visit Albania. Some of the tips contained here can’t even be found in guidebooks. We bought Balkans lonely planet, Traveling Albania by Anita Hendrieka and Albania Guide by Bradt, which are all good, except for lonely planet, which was quite disappointing. But your tips have information that is not found in any of these guides. We are heading to the Bogovia Falls as recommended in this video. Thank you so very much. I can only begin to understand the true effort to produce these videos. You make it look so easy but I have been traveling for a month and I am already exhausted. Thank you so much for all the wisdom. Stay safe and keep traveling. Next time I might just stay home and watch your videos from the comfort of my living room. Just kidding. But I will continue to watch your videos. I find a lot value in them.

      @@worldwildhearts I fond this on Wikipedia…
The castle dates from 4th century B.C
After being burned down by the Romans in 200 B.C., the walls were strengthened in the 5th century under Roman Emperor Theodosius II to protect from Barbarian incursions into the Balkans. They were subsequently rebuilt during the 6th century under the Emperor Justinian I and again in the 13th century under the Despot of Epirus, Michael I Komnenos Doukas, cousin of the Byzantine Emperor.

Bogova Waterfall ; It is a very beautiful place about 2 hours away from Berat. I recommend it if you are going to swim. But other than that, it is not worth coming just to look. You can also park your car in a place 20 minutes away from me. The places you park are on the ground. Some kids come and ask you for money. You need to be careful.

@@worldwildheartsyeah Amasya and Berat look very similar to each other ,starting from the characteristic houses ,to the castle and also the river. Its crazy the similarity to be honest .But the characteristic houses in Berat are much more in number comparing to Amasya , and the position where these houses of Berat are located is a bit different than Amasya , but its true they look so similar. I had the chance to visited Berat and Amasya years ago and i was very impressed.

@@worldwildhearts and i have to correct you 😊 ,Berat is known as the city of one on one windows since the windows are one above the other( not 1000 or 1001 windows)

The historic old name is Belgrad which means White Town. Albanian pronunciation is Berat and is meaningless on any language.

@@worldwildheartsIs not a fact but a lie of stupid slavs that camed in territories of ilyria in 7BC and occupied our cities changed the name .But Berat is old Ilyrian City .All cites of Albania are still kept as they were called back during our ancientor ilyrians.
There are plend of cites in Bosnia ,Montegro,Croatia,
Macedonia and Greece still in Albania language .😉
