I had given him a bath when he freaked out and bit me (he hated water, but it was necessary for presentation) This was remedied by placing a towel in the sink so he could stand and walk around. Opossums hate losing control. My opossum loooved granola bars and York peppermint patties. My sister trained him to stand up on his hind legs to grab them.

I have a little girl that is refusing release. Since they require an appropriate amount of exercise while toddlers I have started just letting them have the run of the house. This girl is the first ever to refuse release when that’s been an option. She has recently become a diva and will get on the bed at night and wake me demanding treats. Recently she got in the bed and grabbed my hair in both hands, and rugged pretty good, because I had placed her applesauce in the tub (she is drain trained) instead of under the bed. Is she spoiled or is there possibly more damage than was apparent during her rescue.? Love your videos and thank you for the inspiration to continue to rehab!
It the tail is healed over leave her alone. If open or looks infected, trap in a Have-A-Heart trap (rent from animal shelter) and take to vet or a wildlife rehabilitator.. Google possum care in your area. Thanks for caring.
