I have never gone from a review to a purchase so quickly Mr DaLore, this feels like it was specifically made for me. Cheers as always, I'd never have found this otherwise. Even if it is bad (seems unlikely) I'm happy to encourage the attempt.
The locations seem like they were created for a black and white colour scheme, unlike some other games that make a normal location and put it in black and white as an afterthought, it makes everything feel much more distinct and just better.
I love Cryptmaster. It has been so fun to play and just explore. Definitely fun when you have friends who have and haven't played. Thanks for highlighting the game!

This sounds like one of the ultimate party games, i'd hate playing this solo, but a group of slightly inebriated hommies and a bunch of snacks? peak Saturday night right there. Probably a good game to stream too, chat would actually make this really fun.
You know it's gonna be a good day when you see a new Mandalore vid drop. I don't care how many times I see it, the splicing of Willem Dafoe's aquaman scenes into The Lighthouse references will never get old. That bit will always make me chuckle
I remember seeing some stuff about this and assumed it was a quick gimmick game, didn't expect it to be such an expansive experience. The core ideas work very well together (riddles, 20 questions, character progression), glad you put a spotlight on it.
This kind of game seems like one of those that actually dares to try something more creative despite it being unconventional. One of the things I love about indies, kinda like how the gaming industry was all the way back in the 80's, as I understand it.
This is the first game in a while you have sold me on before you even start the review. The narrator being exasperated with the completely suicidal/ imbecilic party is something I want in more games.
My wife and I were watching this together and the entire time she was just looking at me going "this is your kind of game isn't it" and god fucking dammit she's right god dammit I'm gonna have to buy this aren't I
This is easily my favorite channel on TH-cam. Also this game was an insta buy from me based on your review. I think I’m gonna get someone friends together to play this on a TV.
Honestly, this game does feel like it's an amazing ride from start to finish, wouldn't have discovered it if you didn't make a video about it. Thanks, chap!
I particularly appreciate the attention to audio @MandaloreGaming gives to his reviews. I go back and watch the Warhammer 40K Mechanicus Review every couple months. "Most electronic music has a bass drop; Mechanicus has a pipe organ." Sans pareil!
The art style is so good. Good B&W shows MORE detail than colour, because contrast helps. Watch any of Huston's early work, or Kurosawa, or even Fritz Lang's stuff to see how it should be done. Also, I adore the Voice Acting in this game.
This is such a unique game. The movement reminds me of the old-school handheld Dungeons and Dragons game. Would love to see you do a review of The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. Specifically, the console version because the handheld is an absolutely different game in literally every way except setting and name.
This game is an absolute gem! I personally haven't done many riddles or engaged in wordle style stuff so this was quite an experience for me, not to mention the comedy is just top tier.
My son is 2, im gonna get this and have him play it to learn typing and spelling. When hes old enough of course. I still remember the bordom of mavis, and i refuse to subject him to that.
11:42 Yeah the development side of the FEAR series is a giant rabbit hole. The only reason I know the games take place in 2025 is cause I went down it.
I am surprise to see how good of a teacher the Crypt Master is. I mean even though he is creepy but some how he seem better than most of my past teachers.
I completly agree with the comment on sound design. Especially Relic seemed to be an expert in that department in the old days. The sound scape of Homeworld, Dawn of War and Company of Heroes elevated these game to incredible heights. They really understood that aspect and must have invested allot of time in that. Also the main reason why Sacrifice stands out to me.
You are correct. Sound is as important. Soundtrack, the music, is very imporant. Many games I have, went from "looks good, but I don't really care about it in particular" to "I MUST HAVE IT. NOW." because soundtrack simply kidnapped me and refused to leave before I give in and get the game, carried by the hype of the soundtrack alone. They often end up being some of my favourite games. Now, I know it's very subjective. But I don't think it ever happened with looks of the game. Graphics? no. Artstyle? maybe, but can't recall a specific title now. Graphics get old, soundtrack is forever.
The thing it’s referring to would be stuff like Tales from the Crypt and Creepshow. I grew up with hand-me down issues of them from the 70’s, gonna be checking out this game for sure! Thanks Mandy!

"OMG NEW MANDALORE VIDEO!"
Mandalore and Civvie uploaded around the same hour. Today is a good day indeed.
The gameplay, setting, plot, theming all come together beautifully, I am honestly impressed by what they made.
This is why I love this channel. You convince me to buy a game that I would have otherwise never heard of. Thanks for adding to my long list of games I want to play but don't have time for
I love that you call out sound, it's honestly of one of my favorite parts of games and a bad soundscape can undo a game for me completely regardless of other factors.
This game looks amazing. Feels experimental like games from the late 90s/early aughts used to. Stoked
It makes me happy that this game is getting so much attention. It deserves it, and I want to see what other stuff these guys can do.
I have never gone from a review to a purchase so quickly Mr DaLore, this feels like it was specifically made for me. Cheers as always, I'd never have found this otherwise. Even if it is bad (seems unlikely) I'm happy to encourage the attempt.
Always an instant click.

The only channel I insta click
"Yes, give it a good soaking."
The locations seem like they were created for a black and white colour scheme, unlike some other games that make a normal location and put it in black and white as an afterthought, it makes everything feel much more distinct and just better.
My friend helped within the company for this game and it's super cool to see an akupara game get coverage 🎉
Deadass, Mandalore needs to be paid for advertising... I never took so much as a second look at Cryptmaster. But now, I am buying it.
I love Cryptmaster. It has been so fun to play and just explore. Definitely fun when you have friends who have and haven't played.
Thanks for highlighting the game!
I’ve been watching your videos for just over two years now. You legitimately help me sleep better. I always fall asleep to your videos now and you have inadvertently improved my health because of it. Thanks mandalore. (P.S. your videos aren’t boring and make me want to sleep you just have a very nice voice)
This is one of those steam demos that I was really impressed with, glad to see you covering it for a much deserved boost.
“The Khaki pants of role playing games…Amnesia ”😂😂😂
Pure gold
oh snap, you're on a roll lately Mandalore!
I remember seeing some stuff about this and assumed it was a quick gimmick game, didn't expect it to be such an expansive experience. The core ideas work very well together (riddles, 20 questions, character progression), glad you put a spotlight on it.
This game would've flown under my radar, but not now. Bought and excited to play! Thanks, dude
First game from Mandy that I am instantly buying instead of waiting for sale! Thank you for the spotlight!
This kind of game seems like one of those that actually dares to try something more creative despite it being unconventional. One of the things I love about indies, kinda like how the gaming industry was all the way back in the 80's, as I understand it.
"kinda like how the gaming industry was all the way back in the 80's, as I understand it."
Yes, the gaming industry crashed in 1983, lol
@@fus132 At this point, it looks like we need another.
This is the first game in a while you have sold me on before you even start the review. The narrator being exasperated with the completely suicidal/ imbecilic party is something I want in more games.
My wife and I were watching this together and the entire time she was just looking at me going "this is your kind of game isn't it" and god fucking dammit she's right god dammit I'm gonna have to buy this aren't I
A pleasant surprise to see you review this, Cryptmaster, much like Return of the Obra Dinn, needs more love simply so we can get more games like them.
Big appreciation for featuring a smaller time obscure title. Neat game!
This is easily my favorite channel on TH-cam. Also this game was an insta buy from me based on your review.
I think I’m gonna get someone friends together to play this on a TV.
This sounds like Vincent Price teaching you how to type I love it.
“Look, you’re a zombie-if something falls off, it falls off.” 🤣
Honestly, this game does feel like it's an amazing ride from start to finish, wouldn't have discovered it if you didn't make a video about it. Thanks, chap!
Mandalore, give me MandaMore.
Sick rhyme
amen
What do you call a sea witch that doesn't like going in the water? A sand witch 🥪
I particularly appreciate the attention to audio @MandaloreGaming gives to his reviews. I go back and watch the Warhammer 40K Mechanicus Review every couple months. "Most electronic music has a bass drop; Mechanicus has a pipe organ." Sans pareil!
8:04 me and my friends played the demo of this game together just huddled around the PC and it was really damn fun, would recommend it!
The art style is so good. Good B&W shows MORE detail than colour, because contrast helps. Watch any of Huston's early work, or Kurosawa, or even Fritz Lang's stuff to see how it should be done. Also, I adore the Voice Acting in this game.
Nothing is more charming than having creepy designs talk like normal people.
This is such a unique game. The movement reminds me of the old-school handheld Dungeons and Dragons game. Would love to see you do a review of The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. Specifically, the console version because the handheld is an absolutely different game in literally every way except setting and name.
I kept trying to figure out why the Sea Witch had the Nixon skill.
NIXON'S BAAAACK!
So happy mandalore still makes videos. Its oddly comforting to see them posted whenever they come up.
Damn, art style looks dope.
One of the few mandalore videos I won't watch because I'm going to buy the game off the beginning.
This game is an absolute gem! I personally haven't done many riddles or engaged in wordle style stuff so this was quite an experience for me, not to mention the comedy is just top tier.
2:31 imagine trying to explain this joke to somebody from like…two years ago
“So there was this fake scientific paper…”
I didn't get it honestly... 😅
So proud of you dude! Can’t wait till you get to that million!
My son is 2, im gonna get this and have him play it to learn typing and spelling. When hes old enough of course. I still remember the bordom of mavis, and i refuse to subject him to that.
11:42 Yeah the development side of the FEAR series is a giant rabbit hole. The only reason I know the games take place in 2025 is cause I went down it.
random car horn in that track killed me
Appreciate how you tried to avoid spoilers as much as possible for a game like this.
Glad to see you also went with Joron
PLEASE GOD BUY IT
Things like "Mr. Ed vision" are what keep me coming back
we're Wordle guys, of course we know words like mellifluous
I never would have heard of this game without you. I'm absolutely checking it out.
Love games that have "dungeon masters". Gives the game a lot of focus and character.
im always excited when you upload!
My most humble request is ya check out Haven Call of The King! A PS2 game nobody outside of my family has ever heard of! Great sound track too!!!
2:00 Wow I wish this existed when I was younger, lol.
worth mentioning that Surasshu, who does the soundtrack, also did the OST for Steven Universe and you can definitely see the bleedthrough.
There is also a decent voice option for those with difficulty spelling and a ton of accessibility features. It's really impressive!
How does MandaloreGaming continuously upload great videos?
Everyone: Through the magic of the Druids!!🧙♂️🧙♂️
IT IS HIS GOOD PLEASURE YOU ROTTEN LITTLE CABBAGE
Haters gets salt 😂
The thing it’s referring to would be stuff like Tales from the Crypt and Creepshow. I grew up with hand-me down issues of them from the 70’s, gonna be checking out this game for sure! Thanks Mandy!
