    Fantastic!! It would be wonderful if this type of education and support spread across Canada. BC Diabetes care is so far ahead. I would be thrilled if NB would promote looping. We aren’t looping because of costs and because we don’t have the support for it.

    When it comes to the cost of the OmniPod, it is 100% a case of the company absolutely r@ping the Canadian government and taxpayers. The same PDM which Canadians pay $6000+ for can be had in most other countries for ~$500. However they have designed it such that if you purchase a PDM from another country you can't buy the Pods in Canada. The only reason the PDM is $6000+ in Canada is because when they came in, later to the game than other existing pump companies, they simply charged as much as everyone else was charging, since the government was already covering pumps in some provinces. The big difference, of course, is that with OmniPod you're still paying $300 for the pods. And the PDM is such an utterly cheap piece of garbage you'd think it came out of a cereal box. Unfortunately it's still the best option for those that want to pump without tubes.
