OH MY GOD, FINALY A GOOD TOTORIAL. I HAVE SEEN SO MANY WHERE THEY ARE HOLDING THEIR PHONE IN THEIR CROTCH. I CAN ACTUALLY RIDE MINE NOW!!!! THANKS YOU SO MUCH
@Internet Bait honestly, I've been riding 4 wheelers for a year. I rode 1st time on a raptor 700 (VERY VERY BIG AND FAST BIKE. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME) and the throttle got stuck wide open giving the quad more gogo juice making it very fast. I didnt know what to do so I pulled in the break. You will stall it several times, but you gotta just give it gas. I rode 4 wheelers for a year and crashed twice... each time I did, I had life changing injuries, but I was on the bike the next day... took me about a week of constant riding and then I was pretty good. I just got a dirtbike and had just learned to do wheelies before it broke down... so, it takes about a week to know how to, then it just gets easier and more fun. Btw, ur gonna get blisters on your fingers from the clutch and your thumb will be SUPER sore after ur first couple rides
@Internet Bait I have healed from them, it's not physically life changing, its mentally... mainly because I'm scared to go around corners fast because I slammed into the back of another quad and I crashed into a ditch. No problem man. What kinda bike are you getting? My 1st bike was a suzuki ltz 250
@Internet Bait oh shit, a quadzilla? You are soooooooo lucky man... definitely would love to see some pics of it If possible... my Instagram is alex.bollinger and my facebook is Alexander Bollinger.
Having watched this excellent explanation, I've just realised the quadbike I've just bought is automatic LOL. I knew it had a centrifugal clutch and a gear lever on top by the tank. But it's only got forward, neutral and reverse gear selection, nothing else. As the last owner didn't explain what the handlebar levers did, I was like, has it got a seperate clutch lever or what, as ive never owned a quad before and I found out they were front and rear brakes when I was pushing it around our property. Mine basically works like a garden ride on mower. It doesn't run at the moment. I knew what the fault was straight away but the last owner didn't have any mechanical knowledge at all and thinks it's died and not fixable. 😁
this was vert helpful, my dad is teaching me to ride his yamaha blaster because my quad has a dead battery and my new quad (my project quad) isnt running, so hes teaching me to ride a manual. thats a lot man
Pretty good explanation for people to learn! I have to teach my wife how to shift her Warrior here when we go out soon. I have two sons I got them quads but they are really young so they have two autos a Yamaha Raptor 50 and Suzuki Z90. I actually have a kinda small quad but they are my favorite 1991 Honda 250x fully new red plastic, everything.
Thank you so much my brother couldn’t even explain it face to face but this video could, and now I can ride it without any help I have a Honda TRX450r so the clutch things is a little different but thanks to you I can actually ride it 😂
Man... my mind is blown. Cause I had a manuel Honda 450 back in the day and man the clutch system wasn’t even close. First I didn’t have a clutch chock 2nd shifting up was down it could go 5 or 6 if I remember correctly 3rd up was neutral up again was revers 1 up again was 2. And I remember it being so fun as a kid. Now I’ve got a 850 can-am automatique it’s faster... but I miss Manuel man!
Please guide me, my father, I have a 125 ATV. Why does it happen that when I want to go straight, the ATV actually goes sideways, as a result it hits a trash can. what should I do sir? Kindly ask for tips🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Nice video man helped me understand even more so what do you suggest for uphill like 1st or which Bc it’s a step hill I go up and I don’t want it to shut off on me
Zalexlebest Un what you do is when you start driving put on 1 gear slowly let clutch and give a little gas when it starts moving let go and start adding gas and when you want to up the gear just let gas off and hold the clutch and shift up and again and again as much as you have on your wheeler and to shift down let go gas and hold clutch and shift down as many as you use and add gas when letting clutch go.
@@corpse4434 what he means by add gas when letting the clutch go is that once you down shift let go of the throttle stop giving it gas grab the clutch and downshift now after downshifting and dropping the gear let go of the clutch and then you can start giving it gas
Alex Perez It can’t be manual if it has no clutch. But I know what you mean. I might sound crazy but the quad I started on was a 700cc fully manual atv. The power on that thing did not help trying to learn how to shift.
So I see someone else made similar video but to shift down they had to hit the clutch each type. Exp I’m in third I let go of throttle pull in clutch shift down to 2nd let go of clutch then hit throttle again seems like u just keep shifting down without pulling in clutch each time is that bad for the clutch?
Nail Celik You will over rev your quad and that can wear out the engine ALOT. Just downshift it when you hear that it's on low rpm and not revving too high.
It's sad a kid can explain it better then most men! I have watch liken 10 videos and not one ofnthen explained it fully except this kid.GOOD JOB BUDDY
I know right this actually taught me mostly how to ride a clutch
Yes bro
sean Ingram that’s how country boys are raised these city guys don’t know what they’re talking about though
It’s because kids don’t have high egos and they don’t try to make you feel dumb and actually fully explain everything lmao
Simplist video I've ever seen on how to shift a four wheeler
OH MY GOD, FINALY A GOOD TOTORIAL. I HAVE SEEN SO MANY WHERE THEY ARE HOLDING THEIR PHONE IN THEIR CROTCH. I CAN ACTUALLY RIDE MINE NOW!!!! THANKS YOU SO MUCH

@@fredstead5652 I commented that a year ago. Now I'm a god. It just happens lol

Congrats for 200 likes
Nice video man helped me understand even more so what do you suggest for uphill like 1st or which Bc it’s a step hill I go up and I don’t want it to shut off on me
Should really get you some nerf bars. They make a four wheeler look so much better. I own a 400 EX as well too.
You’re supposed to let off the throttle when shifting.
BananaSlayer just a little bit not fully u just let it less than half a inch
I drove a 110 cc manual with no clutch, it has a reverse and uses 2 separates shifters for up and down
when I'm shifting gears do I let go of the gas to press the clutch orrr ??? (plz help )
Carlos Valerio yes let off gas..press clutch and shift
If i have a 6 speed quad like s warrior, if i let go and finaly stop do i still have to down shift 5 speed to got it neutral or it come back it self?
Zalexlebest Un what you do is when you start driving put on 1 gear slowly let clutch and give a little gas when it starts moving let go and start adding gas and when you want to up the gear just let gas off and hold the clutch and shift up and again and again as much as you have on your wheeler and to shift down let go gas and hold clutch and shift down as many as you use and add gas when letting clutch go.

Dude I've driven a 400cc manual too, but it was a utility vehicle and had no clutch. Riding these things are fun. How old r u btw? I'm 11
Alex Perez It can’t be manual if it has no clutch. But I know what you mean. I might sound crazy but the quad I started on was a 700cc fully manual atv. The power on that thing did not help trying to learn how to shift.
11?? You must be 12 now :0
Jack. Ass this is no place for u
Do I let go of my throttle when shifting 2nd to 3rd and etc
I got the same question , did you figure it out? It's hard to tell since it sounds like hes still giving it gas while shifting
Project Buildz you have to let it go a little bit
@@davidnieto936so while u giving gas let go off the gas fully then clutch in shift up once you shift go back on the gas
This is actually helpful mate

i like your atv
Very well explained
Great video bro
No quads have the back brake on the bars
Whenever a ATV has a shifter but it does not have a clutch the transmission is called centrifical
great tutorial m8 :)
Yo bro your the best
Thanks a lot!!
Do you hold down the clutch and downshift a couple gears at the same time. Or let on then off the clutch for every gear?
Dustin Lashway you can do that but that will mess up the quad its better to down shift gear by gear
What would happen if i downshifted too early?
Nail Celik You will over rev your quad and that can wear out the engine ALOT. Just downshift it when you hear that it's on low rpm and not revving too high.
cool but what are those
good video my is not my honda does not have revere because my is a honda trx 450r
