@Auz18 a culture is a product of its people and as we know that all cultures throughout the world are different because the people who possess them are different. Genetics is based on nature and genetics are what make us different as they are distributed throughout the world i.e. genetics are what ethnic groups different from each other as well plus they can even determine our behaviour. What the Nazis did was something else, they were all obsessed about supremacy, which is totally irrelevant.
Then again you could look at it another way - the poorest areas of the UK are ethnic areas: Shadwell, Lovells, Sparkbrook/hill, Lewisham, Mosside, Hillfields, Tottenham, etc, etc. It costs money to move abroad as long as you're not intent on living on welfare. But it's fairly easy to move IN to the UK as we have a welfare state and will always rely on cheap labour from abroad as has been the case for hundreds of years.
@Auz18 Culture is based upon nurture as its key emphasis are values shared between groups of individuals whose values have continued right from the past. I know that we live in a secular society, but honestly, you would never consider Hinduism or Sikhism as British or even European though I am sure that European pagan beliefs are linked to Hinduism given that we are Indo-European but still, Hinduism has always been an Indian tradition, and never British.
To be fair I have an asian friend (originally from India) who has been here since 1978 (32 years).He is more English than the English - likes football,lager,fish & chips etc.Unfortunately he still gets petty ignorant comments from the racist 1%.Its true some asian people should integrate more but even when they do they are not accepted by all.Things are better here in the UK than most countries but racism will always exist - just like stupidity.

@NatDemUK Relgion doesn't make you or stop you from being british. Its seem so many british people don't have a clue what culture really means. Now that might be the fault of us athropologists, who are the so called (maybe self proclaimed) custodians of culture, be you have too look at the bigger picture. Theres a thing called primary socialistation and its the morals and values and worldview given too you by your consaguinal or affinital ties and networks (family).

Islam rules out ethnicity or nations because they are seen as "materialistic". Britain's culture is based on number of varieties, and I agree, it is not that homogenous, but when it comes to Islam things start to become a lot different such as honor killings, halal, burqas, Sharia Law, oppression to women and hatred to non-Islamic things.
i dont admire anyone who tries to make their ancestral culture as something to cling to, like a crutch, instead of just trying to promote integration, and therefore less hostility and problems between different races. what makes me sick, is that she says respect each other's cultures, which really means, you have to learn our ways, we dont have to learn yours. Basically only those South Asians are in western world who could afford the air ticket and they are from rather upper middle class of sub continent and are those who had at least one maid or servant in their home . Look at the world through that maid or servant and for them India or Pakistan is way worse than UK . But anyways UK is pretty much shit of a place in some ways . WHAT!!Rasicism in LEICESTER?You have got to be kidding me!I am of indian descent(hindu)and currently living in leicester & I think in leicester the opposite occurs where caucasians are discriminated against.A lot of indians enclose themselves in their own society and disgard british culture and look down on it & caucasians. Of course you should never forget your own culture but at least try to integrate as well. I have been ridiculed,labelled "coconut" many a time for having white friends
Before ethinic groups came to britain, its was a nationlistic country, and almost fascist ( they believed the world was promised to them as the most advanced country in the world, just like the nazis) so what you want us to be racists too? An example of this was the reception you lot gave us when we first came here, or that fact that britain pioneered socisl evolutionism. We were born as a direct result of the british empire just like you thus we are british and we are apart of british culture!
