You could technically also use the Mav to locate the target, and then set a HUD marker to be used for even higher altitude CCRP bombing. That is generally what I do. Way more accurate, means the bomb has to do less maneuvering
Awesome, thanks!. I think when setting the gbu codes, once you followed your steps to set the first station's code, you can just click "step", and then "enter" on the ufc again to set them to the same code, once for each station. (This is if you want the same code of course) This saves you having to enter the code multiple times for the gbu stations.
I loved to loft GBU's in BMS from 20 + miles after diving from FL380 to FL280 near Mach 1 with a 40 deg pull up. Took around 60 seconds for a shaq and the bomb would climb almost back to FL380 before it began falling.
Mav I really love how you made this and the way you discuss the topic. Could you make one for some basic rules for entering into a larger A2A environment? I noticed Thursday night you and shark were holding your own in a flood of hostiles. I’d love to see a general set of rules like, don’t do this, try to look for that. Etc. obviously a2a is fluid but I only ever see TH-cam vids discussing 1v1 and 2v2. Not vs a fluid fireball or AO.
I'll see what I can do, it's not really something I can teach in one video. Most of it comes down to years and years of honing Situational Awareness and prioritising threats. I'll see if I can do some kind of 'general' video about it next year :)
not seeing the "code" button on MFD - but I am running DCS in normal mode NOT Beta, (which might also explain why I cannot get double bombs on pylons). Great video anyway and good to see thinking outside the box to overcome a problem
Ok. have looked on my load out page cannot see a pylon with 2 X GBU 12's can only have singles on stations 2 & 8. please explain how to have double racked 12's
Stations 2,3,7 & 8 will only let me sling single GBU 10-12-16. My double racks are CBU 99, Mk 20 Rockeye, Mk 82, Mk 82 snakeye, Mk 82 Y, and Mk 83. My version is 2.5.324894
Just enter a waypoint. This is more difficult than it has to be unless you are firing the maverick then firing a GBU afterwards. The mav will destroy a target with plenty of time for the BGU to point to another target
Actually no its not useless. I demo'd in the video how useful it can be, its not supposed to be realistic, its a simple, useful workaround until we get a working T-pod that is very handy in missions with lots of targets spread around a large area.
104th_Maverick Thing is, using a waypoint is way more effective, and the area to blow up is saved in the system. It also allows the ability to achieve the same thing you are trying to demo, which is using the waypoint designate function on the HSI to display the waypoint in the HUD. Also gives the added benefit to use auto bombing mode. You should do a video using the waypoint function. You will love it better because after the bomb drop, you can CCIP drop a second once over the waypoint and hit a different target.
Hey mav nice video. Would it be possible to use the CCRP function with the GBU, by creating a waypoint right at the target location & JTAC and then designating the WP as Target, just as its shown in the ED f18 CCRP training mission ? That way you wouldn't have to use a Maverick, switch back and forth and don't have to decent ?
Hi mate! Yes it is totally possible my friend, this is just another way of getting the weapon off in a hurry. It saves you from having to enter waypoints etc, its just a useful workaround until we get the Targeting Pod.
I`ve tried your method, and its work perfectly every time. I dont know, it is a bug? Or its can happen in real life? Seems not too real for me to GBU-12 can fly 12-13 miles to TGT....
The mav Is only for looking where the bomb Will Go? Because you set the lasercode in the bomb and the bomb has it anyway right? Only ask for My understanding 😅

Either way it's some top notch ingenuity while we're waiting on ED, love it!

And you can dive toss it like that!
Nicely done! Thanks for teaching us something new and useful!

Oh ya beauty a Scottish DCS TH-camr? Definitely subscribing to you pal.

104th_Maverick yeah no doubt. Even just a few “top 5 don’t do these stupid things”. Would really help
104th_Maverick totally understand I’ve got years of experience to catch up on :)
Great video as always! :)
Cheers for the upload! Have a nice xmas.
You're very welcome, I hope you had a great holiday!
Great video. Going to try that myself.
Oh... What an interesting little "hack". Love it. Thanks for the tips!
Nice vid mate enjoyed it
2:14 just click step and ent- laser code is all ready on scratchpad
I don't think it is right to go master arm off above the ao, because that also disables your countermeasures.
Yeah thats a great point, to be honest it's not something I normally do in mission. I was just being overly attentive since it was a tutorial vid.

awesome gameplay

You can load them manually by right clicking on the wing station and selecting the double rack from the drop down menu.

Because you set the lasercode in the bomb and the bomb has it anyway right?

The Mav is to find the area of the laser visually so you can drop the bomb in a rough location of the target.
Is there ever going to be an F-16 released for DCS?
Foster Caldaroni yes, Eagle Dynamics are working on the Block50 for DCS. It should be out next year
For Arma 3 and DCS is best a Hotas system or dual joystick ?
I would recommend a HOTAS.
How do we determine the laser code of the target with JTAC in the scenario ..?
It tells you when you check the JTAC status in the radio menu as you see me do at the start of the video.
Nice video. Do you know how to switch weapon quickly without having to click on the MFD?
You would bind the buttons on the DDI to your keyboard so you dont have to mouse click them.
@@104thMaverick yeah that was my thought also. Thanks Mav 👍

Hey "trained professional"... you know the JTAC gives you a location, right?
Ofc, you know you missed the whole point of the video, right?
why are you locking with maverick first and switching to gbu?
So I can accurately see where the target is on the ground to make the delivery more precise.
The GBU-12 does not display on the HUD where the laser is like the maverick does. This way you get a general idea of where your target is.
no such thing as poorx or not, monex matrs not
Hey dude do more stream plz
I stream every other day on Twitch my friend :)
