Hi there. I did a delivery of a leopard 45 to Guadeloupe from Cape Town last year. Owner had specified a large tender with a 25 outboard. It was way too heavy and the chafe was a constant concern. Glad to see you got it sorted.
I just put an offer on a miura lying in Greece. It was accepted. Flying out to see her in a few weeks corona virus permitted to go see her. Enjoying the videos. Will be looking to hit the med on a budget this season.
Hi Martin. Thankfully we are sorted, but we are seriously considering a lighter tender. Tippex is fine for normal handling, but very heavy when beached, a bugger to haul back into the water.
😂😂 being a South African I can hear the wonderfully descriptive Afrikaans way of swearing that took place when that life raft deployed at that hour. No one in the world can swear quite like an Afrikaans person can. Love the videos...
Wow... so much fun. Looks like you guys are living your dreams. So happy for you!!! I'm behind on my views and will try and catch up over the next few weeks. Beautiful video, keep it up.
Another fantastic video! I like Petro's into to the video. Why do the challenges always come at the worst time. 3AM that's Murphy's law I guess. I was wondering can you not move the life boat towards the left of teppex at the corner of Sisu, or will that get in the way of your walkway...anyway keep the vids coming, I am always excited and looking forward to them!
Negus, we have made interim arrangements, but still investigating alternatives . . . . Thank you for your continued support and feedback, it is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys, great stuff. How did you get the genie back in it’s bottle? And does lifting Tippex like that also reduce the rubbing issue? I chartered a current model 40 and struggled to get a rub-free lashing in a bumpy seaway. Also... in rain at the cockpit port seating... the cockpit roof drips onto a flat surface that then can run across and down the back of the seating. I wish there was a small moulded ridge area running to divert the runoff. Does that ever bother you?
Thanx, Tony! Yes, in our next video we will do our 1-year-experience and will then mention the cost and procedure too...but, the lifting does help. What I also started to do is to first deflate Tippex a bit and tie a bow and stern spring lines from Tippex to the dive cylinder rack as well as breast lines from hard points on Tippex transom and bow, onto the stern cleats on Sisu. This way we reduced the chafing dramatically, even in 5m seas Tippex was mostly behaving :-) but it is difficult with Tippex's pontoons which is wider than the hard bottom, because if she deflates more in the cold, then the lines goes slack. As for the dripping...first the L45 does have a small ridge to prevent water running down, secondly, we have the helm enclosure, which is a super help. But, with breaking waves and 40kts wind, we cannot keep all the water out. Sisu's aft cockpit does get wet and salty on long passages.
Pity we missed each other. I sailed into Peurto Calero on the 25 October . Such a nice place hey 😊 keep enjoying Turkey 👍 that life raft deployment must have been a real pain and $$
Sailing Sisu yes off to Cape Town for a family Christmas with the kids then back to Moz to sail to Richards bay for 2 months work on the boat and then ...
Still a great location. The releases are now in a much better place.
Lanzarote is our favorite island!
Oh my goodness, what an ordeal it must’ve been loosing your life raft!
It surely was, AND it happened at night, go figure ;-)

Aaah, nice looking boat, congratulations. Thank you for watching.
Thank you another awesome video. Glad to see a fish found it's way onto Sisu😁
Magda that was fish no 2 out of the 5 that we caught during our entire 13000 miles trip so far :-(

Great stuff. We are literally right here in Marina Rubicon, right now lol (Well - Villas Marina Rubicon actually)
Aaaahhhhh!! Please send our regards to Jato and Adam @ THE FLAGSHIP BAR. (We are currently in Turkey)
Did you have to replace the raft, or did you stuff the genie back in the bottle?
It cost us almost $2,000 USD to put the genie back 😳
The Canary islands- AAAH! We can't sail to go there!
Why not??? It us absolutely worth it!
@@SailingSisu meant to say: we can't wait to sail there*****

Awesome info thanks guys. Also.... So glad that our dream boat has that ridge. :)
As we follow your adventures we have noticed your videography has improved greatly. Thank you for sharing. Really this video was superb.
Thank you so much for your valued comments, we "think (or hope)" we are getting into the groove of sailing and videography ;-)

Thanks Mike! I am sure we will cross paths somewhere along the way, it would be great! You are due to start next year?

Did you run into Ryan and Sofie Sailing on Lanzarote? To date is cruising everything you dreamt it to be? Any you've only just started.
