Hauraki is pronounced Ha-oo-racki, exactly as it looks. When the word is spoken at normal speed, the "u" is almost silent but definitely should be heard. It is a 4 syllable word, not 3. Thanks to the missionaries to New Zealand in the early 1800's who did a great job of transcribing spoken Maori into a written language.
3mm wetsuit is enough. most use a single 12ltr tank. on air or nitrox...staying at the blue lagoon hotel, will mean u can have 2wks for the same price as 1wk on a liveaboard.+at blue lagoon, then u can do 2x deep/long dives a day, not 4x quick dives, on a liveaboard.get there soon though, as structures are collapsing due to trapped divers air?
