No one can say now, they don't understand what that sign means regardless of the language they speak, the Picture is VERY CLEAR!
Exactly.
they will have to add don't touch the guard to
They understand. They just don't care.
Maybe to you, as you already know what it means.
At this point, if people continue to exert their stupidity, the guards should just have a fake replica horse and soldier in the corner somewhere that people can take their handsy entitled photos with, and a line within a minimum 5 to 6 feet that they cannot cross for the real soldiers and guards.
These people act like they have never seen a horse before. If they want to touch one so badly, they can pay to go to a petting zoo and not bother working military animals and blatantly disrespect and harass the guards.
Even with the sign, they continue to pet, smear their hands on the horses, grab the reins then scream bloody murder and get super dramatic when they get bitten.....the better way to go is to have a 5 ft mark that tourists stand outside of and not let them get within 5 ft.
yes, ive been saying this for ages, i agree.
It's a public pavement - not MoD property.
The reason they do is because they can. This defiant behaviour is a symptom of our time.Sticking tongue out with the smirk " I know I shouldn,t but i will I can What is needed is short hard discipline . The guards can do this with a VERY HEAVY SHOUT. Ok they will laugh & titter but should feel ashamed to act like this in Britain. In their own county they would get arrest or probably be SHOT !!
@@John-G Not inside the posts that are there...there is room for a six ft area where tourons can't get at the horses.
@@lindahinzman8236 You mean inside the bollards? Exactly the same - public pavement, controlled by Westminster City Council - not MoD property. The MoD boundary is the wall.
Bloody idiots in our national parks here in the States are always trying to get close to bison, moose, even grizzlies.
People are unfathomable.
There have been complaints that some of the guards are more permissive of people getting close. But, let's be fair; they know the horses very well. There are some, like Ormonde who are known to be reactive, and others are not. However, they are all big, strong creatures, and tourists should show respect to all of them. No exceptions.
Doesn't matter. You can't let some people pet, and others not. Rules are rules, doesn't matter if that horse is nice or not.
No "complaints" - just uninformed comments.
No all should be stopped no matter the horse
@@josephhetherington7318 Well, when you're in charge you can make the rules, but that isn't the rule at Horseguards, as the Army have said very clearly.
Confirmed!! Tourist dont read the sign 😡
They saw the sign and they ignored it, It was up to the guard should shout at whoever touched the horse.
@@sopahrilim2332 A typical modern day take !! No self responsibility it's always upto to someone else . Parents have no responsibility of their children it's all upto the teachers is an example . The most important thing in a lot of people's lives is a phone and this shows it exactly
Signs are the easiest way to determine a person's stupidity. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a need for them. 😂
Probably because they can't read !!😅
Some will choose to ignore the sign.
They need signs both sides of the horse, majority of people are selfish idiots
That’s the Way the world is today.
I swear, those people act like they've never seen a horse before! I'm surprised that the guards don't shout at them like the Palace Guards do. They don't play. They remind me of drill sergeants. 😂
Maybe they haven't ... just maybe.
... and the "Palace Guards" don't shout at anyone - why would they? They're nowhere near the public.
@@John-G I have seen videos of people who get too close to them or in their designated areas. Even though I'm an American, I'm not dumb enough to get near anyone or anything I'm not supposed to. I have seen videos of the guards that have the fuzzy hats💂♂️ shouting "DO NOT TOUCH THE QUEEN'S GUARDS!" Maybe since Charles is king now he doesn't care about things like that anymore.
talking to the horse like it's Mr Ed...
Took all the fun out of watching the videos but at least the horses like Ormond won’t get agitated.
They're a tourist attraction - that's their work.
... and respect is earnt, and there's not much earning going on here.
*@marisavezzoli5156* That sign doesn't require reading, so it's not a matter of illiteracy. Rudeness? Absolutely! And entitlement to boot!
@@John-Gthese are serving soldiers who have been and could again be called to some conflict any where Some of these Guards 4were actually in Afghanistan.
@@gillmarchant7900 I'm well aware that they're serving soldiers - probably rather more than you after a couple of decades in the Army - but what has that to do with anything I've said, here or anywhere else?
Their job at Horseguards and in the Mounted Regiment is Public Duties - that's their role, nothing else, which is why I replied as I did.
It's not knocking them in any way, but FWIW the possibility that any troopers you see here have been in any "conflict somewhere", let alone Afghanistan, is just about zero. The Mounted Regiment (HCMR) is the first tour they do after finishing training, so by the time a second tour with HCMR comes round they'll nearly all have been promoted or, in most cases, left the Army.
It's very easy to tell if someone's done an operational tour by a campaign medal.
That's not knocking them or talking down about them in any way, simply correcting your comment.
How about if they touch the horse or gaurd they get a fine? When they do the remodel perhaps they could put a pressure pad in front of the box and when they get too close it goes off and one of the police officers gives then a fine, payable on demand. If they can't pay they have to clean the yard for two hours. It may also cut down on the massive amount of people who think the rules don't apply to them
Unbelievable. It's a public pavement.
Are the guards asked to ignore the rules of Don’t touch the horse? It’s very strange.
I'm SO happy to see the new sign, but my OCD is going crazy cuz it's not level AAAAAAAAAAAAH lol
That was annoying me too and I'm not OCD lol
Bahahaha 😂BTW has the actual big red warning sign been put up there like in the last week or so as I only recall seeing the modified BEWARE signs, I may be wrong or blind bahahaha........
@@orionsbelt5732 Just been put up in the last 3/4 days.
@@orionsbelt5732 Maybe both.
@@John-G The signs or me being blind and wrong.........bahahaha
It amazes me how everybody is all about Ormonde. There's other horses that bite as well, but nobody knows their names.
I counted 4 disrespectful people not respecting the "Don't Touch The Horse" rule on the wall ,despite the rule also being in picture form!! I knew the picture sign would not work because a lot of the tourists are disrepectful , rude, and entitled people who don't think rules apply to them!!
Maybe it's simply because the picture only says don't touch the horse's head, and it's positioned where very few will see it anyway.
They need those signs on both sides of the guard box.
@@shariys1it would not do any good.people would still do what they want
@@matramapassion2771 I'm not excusing it, simply explaining it. The idea of everybody using Google translate for every sign they see simply doesn't work - how do you know which signs are important so you need to translate them until you've translated them? There are often signs on the gates - do they translate those as well? You've written in French, which I speak fluently although I've only done so once in the last 30 years, so if Google is that good why didn't you reply in English? Probably because, like me in French, you couldn't be bothered to.
I speak several languages and can read and write three other alphabets, (Nepalese, Arabic and Thai) but I had no idea what "reins" are in any of them except French when the sign said reins.
Your "logic" about those who are "educated" already knowing simply doesn't work - it's a big world, and not everyone in it is educated - you don't need a BAC to get a visa!
What's so difficult about producing a simple sign that isn't ambiguous, as this one is?
What's so hard about hanging it where it can be seen before taking a photo?
What's so hard about being professional instead of tacky and amateur?
Would you be proud of this if it was the best the Republican Guard could manage after thirty years, or it was front and centre at the Cour d'Honneur for those visiting Versailles?
How many time did it take for the Lady in white and black dress to be satisfied with her photos.
Maybe put a sign on the horses neck on both sides? Would they notice it then?
Eine BLÖDER als die andere!🥴🥴🥴
The new "DO not touch horse" is self explanatory
We all have found out that they don't read the signs and can't figure out what the picture means.
Its a picture of a horse's head - not a horse. Pretty clear.
@@John-G:. Very clear. A universal symbol which means "don't do." More people are not rubbing on the horses and we are beginning to notice that the horses are calmer.
@@HJKelley47 The circle with a left diagonal is actually a universal / ISO symbol for "prohibited", not "do not", although obviously there's an overlap.
The horse's head and the hand, rather obviously, are not universal symbols and although i) there are many recognised "don't touch" symbols, including ISO 7010, this isn't one of them and ii) the horse's head is very clearly only a head.
It's a poorly designed sign, in an even poorer location - TBH, most 5 year olds could have done better.
Still rude ignorant Tourist’s Touch the Horses the Guard’s need to shout at them or they won’t stop if the see one getting away with it they will all do it except for disabled’s people and Kid’s the horses are amazing with kid’s with disabilities they are so gentle with them
I love how some horses check out the tourists, and some are stoic and looking ahead. No eye contact, please😅😅
new sign , put it on the other side
Hope the sign now being reworded to say not to touch the horse plus the new brand graphic sign (which they never had before) helps. Hope the graphic sign in particular helps with people who don’t speak English.
Way too many people were petting the horses before.
A good sign has been added. The meaning of the illustration is obvious at a glance and I think it is universal, but wouldn't it be more effective to put it on both sides?
Yes, obvious - don't touch the horse's head.
Yes, on both walls of each box.
They should be a sign on the other side as well
Wouldn't matter if there was a 400ft high flashing neon sign they would still ignore it
Time the police were stationed by the guards to tell ignorant tourists off when they disobey the signs.I am not watching any more videos because it annoys me when the guards do nothing to stop them. It does my BP no good at all.
That's not what the police are there for - that's the military's sole responsibility.
Someone has to enforce
@@maureendibari2384 The military, if that's what they want to do - again, this is not what the police are there for.
@@John-GI see some people do not read signs it would work better if someone was watching to remind them of the signs
@@maureendibari2384 The signs could have been better designed and located by a five year old.
It's the military's job to pass on / enforce changes in military policy, not MoD Police's.
While I agree with you 100% that it would work far better if someone was there to enforce it, good luck with getting the military to do that when there are between three and eight spare to open gates and control the public at hourly changeovers and they frequently now do it with one, hence the total chaos.
They should move the sign to the other side at the same level. Too easy for it to get blocked.
Signs on BOTH sides.
They're not competition horses, are they?
Ty for your service 💂♂️🐎🌟💖
Some tourists looks like they just out of the asylum!!!!CRAZZY behavior!!!!!
Glad to see they have a new sign for every Tourist to see, lots of rude tourist like to huddle around the horse to take a picture and being disrespectful. Now with the new sign that the guards can finally yell less with these idiots ignoring rules. People are really getting too comfortable ignoring these signs nowadays. Sad to see we can touch or pet the horses anymore, but it's better to see horses be more comfortable with A LOT of space then almost getting squashed with tourist being around them, also having the guards doing their job more comfortably.
I'm so happy to see this change of policy in regards to touching the horses. I'm certain this will help the stress levels of both the horses, and the guardsmen.
Does anyone know how this change in policy came about.?
Sign needs to be bigger and higher
Did the guard horses ever hear the horses that are taken on walks want to follow them hearing the hoofs trotting off.I love the lady that was talking to the horse, and he was just so happy listening to her it was a lady with a dusty rose blouse.😘😄
The so called horse whisperer, get a lit of them who think the horses will do their stupid bidding. Should leave the horses along and get behind the bollards. The Guard and horse are working, not bloody Disneyland when they are all actors. Damn tourists pain in the backside.
* OMG * I've come to the conclusion that these damn people are going to do what they want ‼️
I think they should get a better graphic designer and remove the blackboard entirely, replacing it with a reworked sign showing horse and rider with the diagonal line.
It would not do any good. People are still going to do what they want anyway
I like watching the videos seeing the and all the ceremony's in the back I don't like how the tourists treat the trooper's and horses they think they're dressed up actors they also make fun of the gatesman that comes to the front
You're thinking - that's not allowed.
Excellent idea
@@Pitcairn2 A "horse and rider with the diagonal line" would mean horses and riders prohibited.
Gracias❤
Really here’s your sign….. 🙈🙈🙈
Horse needs to stay further into box.
Some wave to the horse, some think they’re calling to a dog or,cat, so,e think they need to let the horse smell their hand and some go so far as to make eye contact in the belief that once you know me you’ll like me! Jeez! The horses are soldiers too so if they can’t respect that then we need to treat the tourists appropriately by not allowing close proximity!
King Charles horse is so curious. Guard has the patience of a saint. Dumb tourists, I understand the temptation to touch the magnificent horse but remember, they ARE on duty and not pets!
The guard needs to be more forceful also, you don't know if these people have anything in their hand to hurt the horse or guard with...they get too close in my opinion.
No they don't seem to care about the sign at all, that says to me ignorant tourists
If the horses are so vulnerable, so sensitive and altogether so unable to bear the vicinity of a few people for an hour why have them there in the first place?
Do away with the horses and let the soldier stand there as they do in the courtyard.
Better still do away with both (and those ugly signs!) as they cause such a nuisance on the public pavement.
you can stop showing us the sign about not touching the horse I've seen people touch the horse yet the guard says nothing to them.
WHY DON'T THESE GUARDS STOP THIS MAULING? THEY ARE DISRESPECTFUL TO THE KING HIMSELF.
GEEZ YOURE ADULTS THIS IS THEIR JOB THEY ARE ON DUTY....READ THE FRIGGN SIGN...WHAT DISRESPECT
I just saw a clip where the soldier gave permission to touch the horse and told it was my horse and if I give permission then she can touch the horse. I guess what’s good for one is not for another.
😅brilliant latest sign but should be positioned where tourists don't obscure it
Not all horses have the same disposition - some like the attention, some don't.
The guards know their horses - those watching TH-cam don't.
If horse is inside box....its peripheral vision is somewhat relaxed as there are walls....... NOT human touchy touchys!!!!!!!!!!..........thus no fear of the unpredictable!!!!!........the touchys goad each other...please protect the horses from them....LOOK DONT TOUCH is the only way.....horses love their own space..........
Maybe the "idiots" are those who put up a sign where very few people can see it because i) it depends which side you approach the horse from, and ii) it's often hidden behind those already having their photo taken.
... and which to those from a country where the head is sacred for people and a few animals, which is not unusual in Asia, clearly means "don't touch the horse's head", not "don't touch the horse", so it's perfectly reasonable to touch the horse's shoulder or harness instead.
Now the horse is pissy with his ears back cause he can’t get any one to pet him.
Why isnt the gaurd saying something I still say get barriers these horses are put through torture
Can someone tell that tourist attraction horse to stop touching the tourists!
