Just ordered this, an like every other knife, I can't wait! The Spyderco Resilience is also a china made spyderco an I absolutely love it! I CAN'T believe it doesn't get more yays!

I'll never understand what people have against 8Cr13MoV steel. It's cheap, easy to strop back to a sharp edge and it's not advertised to be anything more than it is. My Byrd Cara Cara 2 is still going strong after about six years (ish). It all depends what the knife is used for.

Yeah I dunno I'm overall a fan of 8Cr for what it is although the Spyderco way of doing it where they charge you the prices of mid range steel for what should be cheap does put me off.

Budget China Spyderco; 3.5” blade at 5.2 oz. Why? Unless this is at a $30 price point, I can’t imagine why Spyderco would even bother ($52 @ BHQ). Oh well, at least they got the clip right.

Washers are plastic (I’m assuming teflon). I only know because I had to do a full tear down to fix some pretty bad side to side play out of box. Got it pretty dialed in after that with some thread locker. I’ve been enjoying using it thus far. I’ve owned plenty of Spydercos but have somehow never picked up one with a wire clip so I was glad to see it offered on this model.

I saw on the Spyderco Facebook page it got on the topic of the wire pocket clip. People asked why they keep using the wire clip on models as most “casual” users seemed to like the sturdier spoon clips. The person on Spyderco’s Facebook page said it actually costs more to machine the wire clip than the stamped steel spoon clips. There seems to be a disconnect between knife reviewers who universally love the wire clips and the general users who probably think it’s flimsy.

I agree with your assessment of 8cr13mov. It's more than adequate for most knife guys, even though we like having something a little fancier in the pocket, it still gets the job done.

    1. Like the look.
    2. Like the back spacer.
    3. This might be my choice for my 1st Spyderco knife. (Not looking to spend more than $75 “total” for a knife.)
After my 1st one, I might get bitten by the Spyder and need to spend more later. For now, I just need a decent flat-ground, leaf shaped beater.
    Cheers and God bless ya’ll.

Are spyderco knifes made in different places.? Or do i have a fake knive? My endura says japan on it. And my para 2 says usa on the blade? I saw your box and it says china?

Would you say it's a little like a budget Manix 2?

Kind of although the feel in hand is quite different but the blade shape is very similar

WoW , what a JOKE !! To be able to get that clip , on that knife ... Those crappy clips are a BIG reason why I haven't bought a Spyderco in over 2 years , I got sick of spending an extra $25 - $35 on an aftermarket clip for knifes that average between $150 - $200 . It's a shame too because I have a decent collection going , probably 20 knives or so ...Their loss , my Benchmade collection has really benefited from it though ....

I wish they’d stop etching “CH1N4” on their budget knives. I’d be more inclined to buy them if they weren’t.
