the grab rail design is a brilliant work by honda...it doesn't protrude and also the groove acts as a provision to strap your backpack and fasten it before you start for a road trip...
Nice review! Like your relaxed but enthusiastic presentation style without the need for gimmicks (yeah I'm talking to you Yammie Noob!). I tested this bike a couple of weeks ago and I was very impressed. Plenty of usable power for roads here in the UK, and the delivery is super smooth. Build quality is fantastic, and the fuel economy I understand the bike can achieve is outstanding. Only did a few miles on the highway in the short time I had the bike, but I didn't find any issues with overtaking speeds or stability.
I got this bike back in March, the 2019 model, it was my first street bike (grew up riding dirt bikes). Until this year it's been probably 10 years since I rode anything, so I figured this would be a good start. I definitely could have started bigger but I don't have any regrets buying this, it's a ton of fun. Probably will trade it in next spring for the cbr650r and put a lot of miles on it.
Heya, what do you think of it? Trying to get as many opinions as possible since not many people are reviewing it Also is the red painted on or a sticker? Love me a blacked out bike
Great review! I bought a 2020 ZX6R recently and while it's a ton of fun, I'm looking to get the CBR500R for times I just want a relaxing and comfortable ride. I had the Ninja 400 which was a great bike, but I feel the 500R would be better on the highway with its weight. I will say the Ninja 400 felt a lot better on the highway than my R3 though.
@@JonDotCom7 Yeah I don't think I'm cut out for the supersport life. I might even trade in the ZX6R for the 500R. I've had 6,000 miles on a supersport (between a 2019 and 2020 ZX6R...long story lol) and I don't think I can take the position any longer. Being uncomfortable takes a lot of the fun out of it for any trip longer than an hour.
@@vtecninja6363 I hear that! Although I don't have any intention on getting rid of any of my bikes, I just added a cruiser to the stable (video soon) for long comfy rides
@@JonDotCom7 Bought the 500R last week and decided to keep the ZX6R. I'm really liking the 500R...it's plenty fun and comfortable as well. It feels nice and planted.
Any cleaning products you recommend for matte paint?. Just bought the 2020 and picking up tomorrow. Main one I found is from ChemicalGuys which seems to be a detailer/protection which probably should be good for me since I don't get heavy dirt on my bikes, just minor dust and water drops on my previous glossy CBR
Hey man great review. Just picked up this same bike last week! 🏍💨... Quick Question: the wire/connector at 4:00 where exactly does that plug into the bike? I opened up my rear seat (trunk) and see no sign of that cable. Thanks for the help
Hey thanks! And congrats! That cable in the trunk runs directly to the battery, really odd if yours doesn't have it, since she bought it brand new and hers came with it 🤔
JonDotCom7 Thanks for the quick response.. I opened up my rider seat as well and still see no sign of that cable. I’m pretty bummed out about it.. any chance she had the dealer install that cable separately before she picked up the bike? I bought mine new as well. I’ve watched a lot of vids on this bike and I haven’t seen any that show / talk about this cable 🤔🤔. Would love to have it tho
@@LT33190 nah it was a complete surprise to us... maybe it was something the dealer installed on their own? Not entirely sure 🤔 but they are pretty cheap if you did want to buy one yourself.. look up battery tender.
Gonna get this as my first bike and I’m pretty excited after watching this review
Good luck! It's a fun bike!

Yeah it's a great all around bike.
@mralex070 very good for city riding
Picking up mine in a few weeks went with the Grand Prix red, so excited. However I might keep my 300 as a way too keep miles off my new baby.
Nice congrats! But don't be afraid to ride her!
hehe mine gets delivered on wednesday :) nice cinematics btw
Nice! And thanks!

Really, that's a little surprising. But yeah the 500r handles great on the highway, feels quite planted.

hella nice bike

No real specific recommendations, I usually just use turtle wax and a microfiber cloth
I have the 2018 version.
I like the high handlebar, wich tells me that i Need a naked bike.
Yeah I have a GSXS1000 which is naked and I absolutely love it .

Review starts at 1:17
Lol some people want to see all angles
I have 2 questions unrelated to the bike, how does that phone mount compare to the RAM Mount? Can we get more of 2:37?
Phone mount is a quad lock and would recommend over ram. And you can have as much of 2:37 as you want lol
JonDotCom7 I tried to win one in a giveaway looking for something for Katie
@@Galian6686 would definitely recommend 😎
Is there lugs under the frame to fit the center stand from the X model?
I didn't see any
@@JonDotCom7 Thanks.
@@Jimo368 no problem!
What phone holder are you using
Quad lock, highly recommend.
@@JonDotCom7 ohh
Thank for the quick response ❤️

Without ABS?
Yep.
I’m guessing this bike isn’t for someone who is 6’5”
Why not lol
Seems too small but I’d need to sit on one to be sure
Yeah check your local dealership to see if they have one on the floor and go and sit on it with your feet up
I'm 6'5" and I flat foot mine quite easily. It doesn't feel too small and is still comfortable.
