    Hey everyone! Just a few updates on grease pencil in Blender 3.0:
    • If you'd like to draw on a new frame, you'll need to press the "auto-keying" button at the bottom of the timeline. If you don't have this turned on, you will accidentally draw on top of the previous keyframes.
    • If you're looking for the Interpolate Sequence options in Edit Mode, in the viewport, it will be under "Grease Pencil > Interpolate Sequence". Shortcut is Shift + Crtl + E in the viewport.
    • There is now an option to "Auto Lock Inactive Layers" in the layers panel.
    • If your grease pencil objects appear over your meshes and ignore the Z space, go into the View Layers tab and under "Data", make sure "Z" is checked.
    • Right Click in Draw Mode is a shortcut to quick access Materials & Layers
    Good luck!

    Thank you for this tutorial! It was my first time working with the Shading Editor (in the first part of the tutorial), which I found mind-blowing!
    After some Googling, I found that the overlap glitch happening at th-cam.com/video/P7VsRlH7w_4/w-d-xo.html may be caused by two grease pencil object origins being too close/overlapping. I found my flowers and light trails were fine in the viewport, but interfering with each other in the final render. I had to move the light trails further away from the flowers to get around this. I hope this helps anyone doing this tutorial.

    When I try to move flower 5 back, it moves all grease pencil layers???

    • @philharmonicaz
      @philharmonicaz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think cause I have to lock layers I don't want to move? They also move like super far each tick unless I hold down control, why is that?

    • @kevandram
      @kevandram  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes that's correct, you'll need to lock all the other layers you aren't using. If you'd like to just select each stroke individually, you can use stroke select (numpad 2) and that might help.

  • @MrHumunuk
    @MrHumunuk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    A tip: Set your Stroke Depth Order to 3D Location in the GP object Data properties. That way you can freely add strokes behind or in front of the others without having the newest strokes overlap the former ones! :)

    • @kevandram
      @kevandram  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the input, but I intentionally did not use 3D location and kept it 2D for this primarily because GP is a little glitchy when it comes to overlapping color layers (specifically the highlights and the shadows). I wanted to avoid any confusion from those following along. But feel free to do whatever you’d like 😁

      If you have the most recent version in Blender, you should see the grease pencil keyframes in the timeline when the editing context dropdown in the dope sheet is set to "dope sheet". If using an older version, make sure the editing context is set to "grease pencil" hope that helps!

    • @kevandram
      @kevandram  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That really is strange, I'm sorry you're encountering it. My first guess would be that guides are turned on. But, it's unusual for them to automatically turn on while you're about draw. My other guess would be that you have the circular shape option in the draw tools selected, but that doesn't sound like it. Try to reinstall Blender again and see if that works. Sorry I can't be of any more help!

    the time offset modifier has no effect on the animation when rendered , the animation is not repeating even the time offser modifier is active , it is working fine on the viewport but not when rendered , the rendered video only shows the 20 frame animation, plzz help me if anybody encountered with the same issue...

    • @kevandram
      @kevandram  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So sorry you're encountering that, sounds frustrating. It might be that the modifier is disabled in renders. Click on the modifiers tab (the blue wrench icon), go up to the title "Time Offset Modifier" and to the right of it, check to see that you have both the screen icon and camera icon highlighted. Blender has a functionality that allows you to see something in the viewport, but not in the render and vice versa. Check that (and make sure keep loop is checked) and hopefully that should work.

    Is the little avatar of you automated or is that all hand-animated? How long did it take you to do that part?
    I really like it but I feel like it could use just a couple more mouth shapes. Too many use what looks like an L with the tongue touching the teeth

    • @kevandram
      @kevandram  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I used a different program for the avatar. The parts and movement frames were drawn, but the animation itself is motion captured live. It’s probably due to my audio not registering. I thought it’d be fun to incorporate something like this in the tutorial. Thanks for checking it out! 😁

      Check to see if "keep loop" is checked on. By default, it's off. You can find this in the time offset options. Hope that helps!
