Hey John, I have a question about your tip about being at your wedding venue the day before. Do you have your bride and groom pay for the 2 days or do you pay for one day out of your own pocket and your bride and groom pay for the other? That didn't quite come across in your video :D I would be very interested to know how you go about this and communicate it
Thank you John, i already buy my x-t4 due your videos, so I hope to be like you, i am wedding Photograph amateur. Thank you for all your amazing videos. Regards from México
@@jbivphotography I hope also =), i was a canon, now I am changing, in mexico all people are used to use canon or nikon, so you were a breakthrough to me.
Great video John. Thnx for the info dude! I usually do 1 I started or overseas wedding a year. Travelling for work is super stressful. Hand luggage contains I\my main camera body around my neck, then the second body in my carry on with lenses, cards and batteries.chargers, flashes and other bits are in checked luggage. The Gnarbox is the best for backing up. I always leave 1 full day spare to location scout and chill in the lead up to the wedding… I always book 2 flights for interstate weddings just in case. $50 for a just in case flight is great piece of mind for me and my couples.
For wedding photography it's easy.. a manfrotto roller for check in that holds 1 pd cf tripod, 2 lightstands and 2x ad100pro, 2 bodies and 4 lenses with an ipad pro in the roller sleeve.. Always get the express boarding pass.. so you always have space to put your check in roller at the overhead before everyone else does. For wedding video.. it's a whole different story..
Delays are always scary if you don't have the buffer time to deal with it too. I've done back to back weddings in different states with a flight in between. Never have I ever been so stressed. 😫😫
timing on this video is great! Seems to always be with you lol Booked my first destination wedding to Jamaica in 2023. Curious on if there is anything you would do differently aside from just being there even earlier
😞😞 I haven't found a solution yet since the Gnarbox is done. I just give my 2nd photographers SD cards and get them back at the end of the night. And back up on a portable HHD. I hate the process so much.
It depends on how far I am. The wedding I did on this day I walked too because I stayed that close. Generally I tend to rent a car and then drive there.
Do you travel for your weddings?
Hey John, you should do a video on like how taxes work and tax write-offs! That’s a big thing I’m sure a lot of us would really appreciate
Hiya John,
Which 4lens you travel? Fuji 23 35 50 and 90 or 14?
John is literally saving lives with the last tip 😂
I'm with you!! I have to be there early and I always check out the venue in advance!!

Glad it was helpful!
I’ll would love to come a second shoot with you, I’d love the experience and the chance to learn from you.

Okay so, you're getting the client to pay for the hotel, but then you come a day early, so are they paying for that extra day too?
thank you john
Very helpful as usual thank you. Like you’ve said in your previous video, make sure you have a big breakfast 😅
Welcome! Thanks for watching
The early bird gets the worm 🪱
LOVE the bag John! Could you share the link please?
The amount of times where I’ve had travel delays… always getting there early for sure.

Great video. Very informative. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾 I myself have a wedding to shoot this time next year. I’m super nervous, keep me in prayers
You're going to do great! Good luck on your wedding.
@@jbivphotography thanks 🙏🏾
Enjoyed……. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey brother I always had this question about do the clients pay for your flights and hotel room if the event is for 3-4 days in a different state?

Congratulations!!!!
@@sassysavannah4383 thank you!!
Did gnarbox go out of business? Do you recommend any other equivalent now?
I’m pretty sure they did. I did a video about it a bit ago. I haven’t found a replacement since 😔😔😔 honestly it put a big wrench in my workflow.
Gnarbox is no longer made. What do you use now?
😞😞 I haven't found a solution yet since the Gnarbox is done. I just give my 2nd photographers SD cards and get them back at the end of the night. And back up on a portable HHD. I hate the process so much.
Do you use the gnar box even for a local wedding?? I love your videos…you laughter, your “imitations”, etc.!!
I do. Mainly so that I can backup my second photographers photos on site.
How do you get from the hotel to the Wedding?
It depends on how far I am. The wedding I did on this day I walked too because I stayed that close. Generally I tend to rent a car and then drive there.
Patreon Squad 💪🏻🔥🤘🏻
YEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
Those bench presses be working bro 💪
GYM RAT TIME!!!!
One thing : Do NOT hit target BEFORE you go to the hotel. All of your gear is in the rental & you run the risk of your car being broken in.
so true!
I'm the type to get somewhere 5 to 7 days early tbh to take time to study an area.
WOW! Thats SUPER early. Thanks for sharing.
Supper Sir.
Glad you enjoyed it!
