When i put a 1.8t in my t4 i used a vw t5 1.9 sump in it only thing that needed modifying waa put the sump plug to the front. With you using a pd engine you could of used all the bits off the t5 1.9
Great video.. I've just subscribed after looking for some decent videos And information about keeping these T4 still rolling.. I'm after some advice..my cold start cable has stayed out after I pulled it for a cold start yesterday and I'm having difficulty putting it back..any advice on where to look or a remedy???.. Thanks in advance
Possibly, it has snapped. Cable is actually solid metal rather than a cable. This allows the push/pull action. I have had mine snap a couple of times in 18 years of ownership. It is a two part piece. If it has snapped, it has a likely gone on the lower section. As a temp fix, you can disconnect the top half from the bottom half. It will have snapped close to the end of the lower half. You should be able to see the exposed metal wire/rod/cable. Remove any rubber outer housing and any plastic sleeve. You can bend the end of the metal wire over about one inch, and that gives you a small handle to push/pull what is left so you can advance the throttle from inside the engine bay for cold starting. A temp fix, or leave it like that for a couple of years like I did 😂 The original part is long obsolete now. You can fit the LHD lower cold start section to a RHD van as it is slightly longer. Brickwerks have them for about £30. I bought a couple and keep them as spares. If you attempt to fit the replacement lower section, you will need to place the radiator in the service position. Using a really long screwdriver, you can separate the ball and socket fitting. I used a long piece of wood 1"x1" to push the ball and socket back together, I may have used the screwdriver, can't remember exactly. Have fun doing that.😂
Yo I'm Dan's mate (monster rabbit 🐰) liking the build... ok how long has this taken to put together? And where abouts are you in Essex if you are in Essex flame on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

@@T4mayhem thank you for responding back. I will save your details on here for when time is right as my bottom end on my 1.9td has seized so thinking this is my best route next

Does it fit without modifying the sumo?
