Never considered that having a net worth of 0 was something to celebrate but I get it: if you're not up to your eyeballs in debt you're ahead for the pack. Well done, as usual, Austin!
Long as you work slow and steady to build that net worth , you’ll get there. It’s dedication & patience. And discipline, be willing to delay gratification. Until you get there.
The best lesson I learned long ago was to _pay yourself first_ . That is, before you spend your paycheck, have money put into your 401(k) and also a post-tax account. The best way to save is make sure it is not easy to get at. You will thank yourself decades later by adopting this philosophy.
I can't believe I've actually accomplished a lot of these, 3 of them were this year! I feel like I should be doing so much more but gotta remember to celebrate what I've done 🙂
Celebrate your milestone of not wearing a solid-colored shirt!! 😂On track to pay off my car by the end of the year! YAY! Excellent points to celebrate!
Thanks for this video. I already have about half of these things in place. Savings account, zero debt, paid off car, currently investing, and trying to get my 401k/Roth set up. Thank you for keeping it simple and not making it all about being rich. It’s the small wins that create a better life!
Love the shirt & it goes with the world map ! 🌎 I feel like we’re rich after watching this. We don’t have debt, except for our mortgage, but still, I’m on cloud 9 ! Thanks Austin, and does anyone say, cloud 9 anymore ? 🤣😂
Thank you thank you thank you this is a great checklist! You’re content is so appreciated and applicable to real life. I shared this with my kids and nephews 🙏🏻hopefully they will heed wisdom
I just got fired, and I'm 39 years old. Now that I have 425K saved for an early retirement at age 50, 10K in an HSA, and a property that could yield an extra 200K, what possibilities do I have for a steady stream of income?
Is it time for a career shift or should I consolidate my investments into a single account? If I go for the latter, how do I do it right, and what could be the drawbacks? Plus, with a $200K property sale on the horizon, should I combine my investments or diversify them across different markets?
These are crucial questions for a financial planner. I met mine at a NYSE summit, and with her help, my wife and I reallocated our $1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and a brokerage account. She’s been making investments with our approval and has helped us recover twice our losses. We’re holding steady and carefully navigating more markets
hello-would you consider a video on those of us getting into investing at or close to retirement? Index funds may not be the best way for us because of time.
I think that too..I am 59 and have 17/18 years left to work, but don't have fully funded emergency fund yet and a large mortgage which I am trying to pay off early, so don't think I will have time to invest! Or should I be investing instead of paying off mortgage? Trying to pay off as much as I can before my low fixed rate ends.
I love this video! People only focus on the big things but every step you take is towards financial freedom and every milestone is truly worth celebrating!
Paying a comparatively low amount for transportation is important. Whether the car is paid off or not is less so. I'd highly advise when young driving depreciated but dependable vehicles that are paid off. Get to know a mechanic to know which models are dependable over the long haul and cost less to operate. When you have lots of money it doesn't matter that much whether the car is paid off or not. Many wealthy people lease their cars, or at least they did when interest rates were super low. If they're spending a small amount of their income for it, and they're getting what they want, it doesn't matter that much anymore.
I eat out every day and buy clothes monthly. I don't know how to celebrate because nothing can quite excite me now. Maybe that's the problem. Hmm.. but I'm still living below my means and having surpluses every month.
I won’t have anything to celebrate for many years… paying off house (513k), reaching 1mill in 401k, reaching $250k in brokerage account… those are my current goals
Who knew you are such a party boy. I love a good party. Please invite me to your next one. I'd bet you are a terrific host. Your shirt is in color? It looks gray and black on my old reliable B&W TV screen. Thanks.
Why is it that everyone one of these money TH-camrs have to put their annoying mugs on every single thumbnail? It ain’t cute or endearing, it’s just cringe…
YooToob hid my comment because it thought I was a bot, so I'll try writing a more concise one. There is nothing wrong with simply accumulating savings in money market funds for several years. That's what I did in the 1990s. Staying *out* of the stock market kept my funds safe and predictable, and it was available to me when I needed to qualify for a difficult first mortgage.
Never considered that having a net worth of 0 was something to celebrate but I get it: if you're not up to your eyeballs in debt you're ahead for the pack. Well done, as usual, Austin!
My milestone is keeping debt down, I incurred a federal student loan of $10,000 Cad, $7,800 in credit card debt. The income is $225 Cad a month. 3:46

Exactly!

He wore a flower print one last week! 😊
Austin, you have talked about important steps mostly ignored by majority of the people. Thank you Sir
Living car free is an underappreciated financial milestone too.
I celebrate a milestone every time a new video from El Augustin is popping out
Having a paid off Car with no car note is a blessing! Having some margin in your budget to save and invest a little is a win!
Thank you! It’s great to have this perspective and celebrate the things I have achieved 🥳
PS - nice shirt 😉
I just cant wait for another one of your videos. It makes my day!🎉
The BOSS of shirts (and finance)
It's important to celebrate the milestones it can be a grind.

I’m only 5 figure income but I have all 10 milestones. I’m celebrating😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎈🎈🎈
A great video once again Austin, it easy to forget to celebrate the small wins
This positive message is so important! Motivating. Thank you.
Thanks! Glad you think so!
Thank you for this - some I didn’t consider milestones but happy to reconsider and to celebrate the small wins

Yes we still say clouds 9. I haven't heard a replacement phrase yet..

You look great in your new look, the shirt is perfect.
I am half the way there ❤🎉 feeling better now 😅
Hello thank you for your advice also like your shirt is very elegant.

While seeking a financial advisor at this point is sensible, postponing retirement could be a more prudent option
Is it time for a career shift or should I consolidate my investments into a single account? If I go for the latter, how do I do it right, and what could be the drawbacks? Plus, with a $200K property sale on the horizon, should I combine my investments or diversify them across different markets?

That is really great! My portfolio is not doing well. Who is your professional?
June Renae Matthysse. Look her up online; she’s well known.

Also, 59 and wondering if its too late for investing.🤔
I love this video! People only focus on the big things but every step you take is towards financial freedom and every milestone is truly worth celebrating!
Thank you for these milestones - some seem so simple but are overlooked!

nice shirt, nice backdrop
Celebrate having a ZERO CC BALANCE.

🎉i’m celebrating 😊
Yes yes and yes
Focus on owing nothing and owning nothing thats not an Income producing asset.
No but it is a sobering start for lots of people
Loving the Charlie Sheen shirt lol
I like the world map on the wall where did you get it and what do the colours for different countries mean?
The link for it is in the description. There's no significance for the colors...it's just the style of the map.
Great shirt choice Agustin!
Reminds me of Charlie Sheen’s
I cant hear you, his shirt is too loud
Thanks. I thought it looked like what they wear in the show, "Narcos."
YES!!!
❤
❤
Fixating on stuff like net worth and sore numbers is just sad. Life with less and be happy. Stop counting you money every two weeks.
❤❤❤
👍👍👍👍
Financing a car is beyond me.
First big expenses is your taxes 😅
😂?
Why is it that everyone one of these money TH-camrs have to put their annoying mugs on every single thumbnail? It ain’t cute or endearing, it’s just cringe…
You need to get some sun bro.
That's what you say?
This is not a good time to invest in the stock market, even for experts.
