All trades should strike everywhere in Canada and demand better pay without the trades the country shuts down

The ttc workers did not receive anything as a compensation as an essential service(not being able to strike) however police, firefighters etc did. Also the wage increases have been below the cost of living for years. Everyone should be getting at least coa raises. The head of ttc has gotten a 65% raise the last 3 years total. Printing money has caused inflation to the point that you need to make 25% more today to live that sane as 3 years ago

Correction to your statement that TTC workers: ".. workers did not receive anything as a compensation as an essential service." The TTC workers DID receive compensation
The TTC 2024 budget estimates $3 billion in government subsidies to augment a paltry $793 million in operating revenue. I know of no privately operated transportation organization -with almost $2 billion in salaries, wages, health, dental and pension benefits - receiving this level of government subsidies. But now the unionized TTC workers want more remuneration.
If a work stoppage occurs, TTC commuters will be forced to use ride-share services like Lyft or Uber (whose contractors don't have the payroll benefits and hours of service of TTC workers). Toronto and Ontario taxpayers will go nuts knowing that their provincial taxes and property taxes will be increased to pay for this lunacy.

Olivia will cave. She'll just raise taxes next year and party like everyone is invited. Too expensive my rear end...

Very unpopular opinion but I say the judge who said the TTC wasn’t an essential service be fired and Doug ford use the not withstanding clause again

TTC and other regional transit workers are paid 70k and upwards. Imagine a ttc bus driver getting upwards of 90k! This is the same salary as new engineers, registered nurses, IT workers who spend years in college learning intricate skills. These greedy people need to take a hard look in the mirror!

That just raises the cost of living and the unemployment rate....economics aren't as simple as just raising wages...
