Nice solid review! I have a wooden product thata 120mm in hight, will that Z axis still work on it with a tool added on it as well? I've never used a CNC machine so maybe this is obvious to someone more experienced. Thanks so much. Cheers!
Spindle runout is 3/10ths of an inch? What did they use for a spindle, even the cheapest harbor freight drill press has less runout than 3/10ths of an inch... I am sure that was not an accurate statement (certainly within 3/10ths of an inch though).
0.0001 inches is often referred to as a tenth… and yes, if you didn’t know that particular shop slang, it would be rather confusing; because 0.1 inches is correctly called a tenth of an inch.
@@joelsmith4394 I think it's the difference between folks used to laser and 3d printers dealing in 0.1 or 0.08 mm layers or laser settings generally relevant to 1/100th of an inch (except fiber lasers that get very very fine)... most people who haven't touched a lathe or milling machine don't think in terms of 1/1000 or 1/10000.. because.. c'mon, man! :-D and I'm sure some machinists get a nervous tick when a carpenter says, '1/4 inch gap? we'll just bump and shim that if we need to, it's fine". :-D
Been following your channel from the start! Glad to see you’re still releasing awesome content!
Thanks so much. Glad to still have you!
For easier reference, the bed size is around A4/letter.
Excellent presentation.. Seems expensive for overall capabilities. Good job,

3/1000's, 2/1000's of an inch? Only 2 orders of magnitude off.

He read the conversion incorrectly. The runout is 0.01mm which is 0.39 / 1000 of an inch, I.e. less than half a thou.

Yeah, he said “tenth” twice where it is clear he meant “ten thousandths” or .0001 inch increments. I knew what he meant so certainly forgivable.

$2,099.00 Get real, that's a desk toy.
That’s the Carvera not the Carvera Air.

2099 does appear to be the pre-sale price for the Carvera Air.
Yep. And toys are unsettlingly powerful these days. That money could also get you a nice drone or several nice 3d printers
@@Neo7CNC Yep, that's the Air. The regular Carvera is $5k
