Look at the fight as a whole, they don't judge based on rounds. Hirata almost won twice and all she suffered was some a nasty leg bruise, Lin was almost submitted and now has a concussion after that ending.

A very good fight: Lin dominated the first and second rounds: but that knock down messed it up for her; the judges probably counted it as knock out or close to it.
biased judging
One doesn’t score rounds, they score the overall fight! So it’s a bunch of leg kicks vs a few takedowns near submission and a near knockout. It’s a weird system but when viewed that way decision makes more sense
If they are not scoring by rounds, they shouldn't have rounds. If they are scoring the totality of the fight, a fighter shouldn't be able to be saved by the bell.
They need to squelch out the background noise.
And the commentators. A lullaby would be more appropriate for this “blistering” fight.

Lin Hequin has saved by the bell TWICE. All Lin did was bruise Hirata front leg. How can you possible thing she won?? What fight did you weatch?
so 2 takes downs make you win , scoring system is what i hte here , like why score take downs and submissions higher than everthing , if that's the case just do fulll bjj or wreslting for points and remove striking completely cause it's pointless (pun intended )

@@seanhwy9761 Saved by the bell? 3rd round didn't land an attack in the last 10- 11 seconds. 2nd round a Kimura in a scramble nothing locked in is a big stretch for SAVED. Love Hirata, but finish the fight lands one punch, two pretty weak takedowns stalls. She may have had more in ring celebrations than she had significant strikes.
ONE still reposting this fight every couple months but can't give Lin Heqin (the only person that made this fight interesting and fun to watch) a single fight since 2022

Pretty close fight but Hirata sent a clearer message overall and deserved this win. Two of the prettiest fighters
Well.. though Lin did much more overall technically and might have accumulated points, I assume the thing is the judges judged this more like a steer fight. The one who had more potential to finish a fight, even if doing less.. would have more chances to win. I assume that if u keep in mind that Hirata was never in danger of being submitted or KO'd and Lin was like 3 times.. that was the decisive factor.
Good analysis. Focusing on damage to a leg is like focusing on Nate Diaz bleeding: neither Nate nor Hirata are bothered by it.
Hirata was gifted that decision. 1 Knock down and a potential submission finish can't possibly amount to more than what Lin was dishing out.
exactly , i'd love to hear some one explain to me ho hirata won .that's why i hateee these mixed martial arts fights , they make it seam allot that striking is pointless and you should wrestle all 3 round to win .

For the love of God if hirata's trainers don't work on her boxing/karate. She can be one of the most phenomenal fighters because her ground game is exceptional. But time she gets them on the ground there is only 25 sec on the clock. They know your strategy 🙄

kinda sexy / marketable , weird decision i guess based on the closing part of round 2. which no way to say she WAS going to submit woth more time , theres rounds for that , yes she had her at end of last round in trouble , but she never got going for rest of fight and other girl landed A MESS of leg kicks , jabs and punches .

Hmm, judges knew the result before the fight.
Wrong decision by some one. Because there was no any judges. Somebody was walking near that place. They were decided. Not one championship zero. Partiality against Chinese player.
I kind of get why the judges ruled it that way though. Lin's fighting was boring as hell. All she did the entire time was the same leg kick over and over and over and over. At least when Itsuki took Lin to the ground it was exciting to watch because there was actual movement. Lin should have done more than one type of kick and Itsuki should have rushed to engage more. Overall, I kind of feel like the judges did call this wrong. Just my opinion though.

Lol, Hirata got a few takedowns, some ground control time and a knockdown, Lin basically only did some damage to the front leg of her opponent and didn’t threaten her once. Like literally she landed nothing else but the lowkick and she didn’t even score a knockdown with it. Nothing weird in that decision imo.

Robbed? She was better at striking, but on the ground even my grandma could submit her - and keep in mind that my grandma has been already dead for a while. If it was a kickboxing match - sure, she would've won that easily. But in MMA you have to be a complete fighter, not just hope to be saved by the bell. She either has a lot to learn yet or she should change sports.
