Before Ippo vs. Wally, there was Joe vs. Harimao.
Funny thing is that in the manga that last punch in the anime isn't what would finish Harimao.

@@eustace8520 In the manga the fight actually continued a bit longer where the match officially ended when Harimao committed fouls that DQ'd him but Joe felt it's better to finish him off. You know what they said about animal when being cornered? As a result the fight kept going for a bit where it finally ends when Joe send him flying.

@@eustace8520 they forgot to tell that harimao did a lot of nasty illegal attacks after that, there were headbutts, hid did that jumping attack with his knee and even bit joe yikes and in the anime they didn't show how joe was scared of harimao in the 2nd round

Ashita no joe is my dads childhood movie he started watching this since he was 11 after he sees joe dies he just became sad lately but he still watching it these days , making him his childhood series

In the anime, Harimau's first fight where he demonstrates his rope techniques isn't shown adn this is where we see them. However, in the manga, that last punch was not the end and dear god it is CRAZY.

Igual que muchos me sacó muy de onda el combate, por poco y Harimao expulsa electricidad jaja, pero la idea me gusta, un boxeador salvaje casi animal es muy divertido y refrescante, si se hubiera mantenido totalmente en que pelea sin técnica real haciendo que sea muy impredecible en combate para un profesional funcionaría pero pues volteretas jajaja.

Sinceramente la única pelea que no me gustó de la serie. Demasiado caricaturesco y muy exagerado para el tono realista de la serie, además de que Harimao no fue más que nada un estereotipo andante y en mi opinión hubiera sido mejor que metieran a otro boxeador con cualidades similares pero que no hiciera cosas tan exageradas como saltar de las cuerdas o dar 10 vueltas en medio del aire.
en si a mi me gustó subjetivamente y me entretuvo, aunque concuerdo que es raro ver a harimao dando 70 volteretas en el aire, y choca aún más de como se venía manejando la serie, por suerte el combate no dura ni medio capítulo jaja.
yo recuerdo que cuando lo vi dije en voz alta wtf, aunque entiendo que quisieron dar variedad y asi que Joe tenga que desenvolverse en un combate contra alguien impredecible, pero concuerdo con usted es muy anticlimatico y fuera de lugar pero lo bueno es que no afecta a la trama tecnicamente
