That’s literally how I felt!! I cut my hair back in 2017, when I was 17 y.o and I never looked back since. The most I’ve let it grow is 3 months which gives me about 1.5 inches of hair. 1.5 inches is too much for me to handle 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and I’m running to my barber…who is conveniently located walking distance from me🤣🤣🤣🤣
Buzzed my hair off over the summer and I love it. However some family and friends don't understand why I did this as they say "you had such beautiful hair". They don't know what it took to keep that hair nice looking. So now my natural color leve 7 blonde with my sprinkling of grey. No more bleach and color, no more spending $200 at the salon. You look so gooooooood. *good cheekbones hi five* LOL. I feel inspired, I think I'll do mine this weekend. I usually use a #1 on my Wahl, but I'm thinking of playing around a bit on the sides this time, maybe a couple of different lengths with some lines that play off the natural scars on the left side of my head. (Fun fact: had no idea those were there till my first buzzcut... mom, did you drop me on my head as a child??) One thing to keep in mind: Wahl clippers are great, but keep in mind that you do need to oil the blade every few cuts, and if you notice it doesn't seem to be cutting despite the oil, don't buy a new one yet! If you take a look and it's buzzing but the blades aren't moving, you can realign the blades yourself with a YT tutorial and it totally works (even for a spatial-sense challenged person like me). Ps - when you got to the thumbnail point, I was like "oh hey, it's the point at which I'm always tempted to just leave half of it long!" 🤣 And when you got to the perfect length and started debating whether to keep going, I started yelling at the computer "Chimdi! Hair grows!" I'm glad you got there, haha. Always go a bit shorter than what you actually want, unless your hair grows reaaally slow.

I have been bald since my mid-20s and I am male. I always get the level 1 buzz cut (all the way around). I am capable of growing some hair on the sides. Does it look better with some hair on the sides, or just all off? My head gets cold easily and I wear hats or caps a lot.
That's one thing I didn't realize! How cold my head would be! I like the look of low sides with the high top but I'm actually growing my hair all way around, too!
