Got this at home on my good ol' GameCube. I love this level because it's probably the closest thing you can get to destroying the Death Star by yourself. But the greatest thing is that they really made it like the movies.

Not likely. Since LucasArts owned this game, and since Disney dissolved LucasArts after acquiring it along with LucasFilm, they are in control if it is going to be re-released. And since Disney gave the license to EA, the probability of a remake or such is that much lower.

I tried on Dolphin but the music didn't sound so good. And man, I need to play this with John Williams and Chris Huelbeck music, if not, I'd die. So I decided to BUY the game for my Gamecube (actually I play them on my Wii now) :D And today I did this first mission and wow... was perfect!
Much better looking than that crappy "HD" texture pack everyone likes to use. You can actually see the atmosphere on the red gas giant in the beginning of the mission, and the X-wing textures don't look like complete shit with the contrast cranked up to 11. Other than some blurriness on the hud elements and the stars from the skybox textures, this looks better in basically every regard.
There was a time I could do the trench run in the cockpit view, take minimal damage and fire two missiles without lock on/targeting computer, before the end of the trench was in sight and get them both in each time. That was a long time ago.
How did you get this game to work on the Dolphin emulator?! Last time I checked (about a few months), Dolphin can play the game, but you can only see up to 50 ft (which is almost nothing) because this game uses some 3rd-party software to create larger-than-normal draw distances that the Dolphin emulator doesn't support. Teach me how you did this please!

Ok I've got it working now. I didn't know about a new version of Dolphin 4.0 until I hovered over the link. (My bad) I initially had a few issues with the frame rate and sound, but after a few adjustments of my own, it was almost perfectly now. (The only remaining issue is when new missions & cutscenes loaded up for the 1st time. However, aborting and then restarting the mission seems to fix it.) Thanks! :D
DragonBallZKaifan2 I can't get this to work. I've tried several different versions of Dolphin, but i can't get it to run smoothly (if it runs at all). If I use LLE, the game slows down a lot. If I use HLE, the game runs smooth for most of the time, but the music is all garbled.
Nice! What kind of controller did you use for your Dolphin emulator? I find it tricky to find a good way to accenerate with the Xwing and Bwing without closing the S foils. On the GameCube controller, you had to click it. I would love to use a throttle and stick, but it will only recognize one input, not both.
It works almost perfectly, but the sound is slowed down quite a bit. Which causes dialouge to sound funny, any fix? And after reloading, the map is blocked by two squares
AESCULAPTORmark3 Play the game on the Wii with component cables, and have the console set to 480p. That's the best you can get out of the game for a reasonable price, and for many Gamecube games actually. Getting 480p out of an actual Gamecube is very expensive nowadays. Wii component cables aren't quite as good as Gamecube cables for playing Gamecube games, but they are a hell of a lot cheaper, and are almost as good.
for years people have wondered why the Empire never plugged up that hole in the Death Star. well here's some common sense. there's a reason why they call it the exhaust Port area. plugging up that exhaust Port area on the Death Star would be plugging up the exhaust pipe in your car. not a very smart idea in the long run.
I agree. Even when I played XWing I was deeply disappointed by the trench run, since that was what it was all building up to in the first place. Today, a system's resources should be used to capture the essence of the movies instead of just move a bunch of graphics around in the form of a simple rat maze. All those lasers firing above the trench just takes something away from it.
Because this is way better than Battlefront 2015. Amazing graphics, fantastic controls and this game is fully complete, and doesn't require DLC to get enjoyment out of it.

The Graphics were Amazing when it came out. I'm not sure about it's exact date, but it must be close to 2001 or 2002. The Gameplay is of an Arcade Style Action game... like the new Battlefront. Both of them doesn't fit my needs. I prefer the X-wing series for PC. The dogfights in these games were harder, more like actual duels like in the movies. You couldn't go full Poe in these games...
There was a similar kind of thing released years ago on the iphone/pad. Think it was called Star Wars Trench Run as was as close as you could get to this level of the game. Unfortunately the removed it from sale in the end. It was pretty good and fun.

Not as good as the original. Accuracy played a huge part on earning Medals, and I mean a huge part. Some of the missions on this game you can get golds with below 20% accuracy. Because of this every gameplay footage I see people just spam spam spam, do not even try to really aim.
Do people not realize this emulator does not come close to what the real game looks like on game cube ? If u seriously think for a second the original GameCube game looked this good ? Go buy a GameCube buy this game buy some A/V cables look at the game it will look nothing like this.
