  • A high altitude valley (about 3,000m above sea level) which WAS one of the most overwhelming nature wonders of China, with a great wide waterfall (over 300m) and emerald colorful lakes. Regretfully, it was destroyed by an earthquake in Aug 2017. This video captured it BEFORE it was destroyed - and is now dedicated to the memory of a wonderful place gone.

I stumbled across your channel looking for fellow drone youtubers. This video is wonderful. Great job. I had not heard of it prior to this video. So beautiful to see the multiple level waterfalls. Then, I read in the description about the earthquake, googled it, and saw the aftermath. So sad to see a most beautiful sight destroyed. Thanks for sharing what it once was like !

It's fantastic! I was lucky to visit it on 6th August 2017, only a day before the earthquake. It was rainy and the fantastic Jiuzhaigou looked more mysterous in the rainy mist. We left it on the next day, 7th August. Now it was sunny with deep blue sky and white clouds. We went to the First Bend of Yellow River at Tangkor, Zoige Grasslands, only 100 km from Jiuzhaigou. While we had dinner at that day evening, we heard about the earthquake...strangely we didn't feel it, although we were not too far, probably because we were on 3500 m altitude, on the Tibetan grasslands.
Now, Jiuzhaigou is opened again, and as far as I know, everything is restored like before- partly naturally, partly by the help of the people. I'd like to visit it again soon, hope what we saw in 2017, we can see it again the same!

I hope it was restored, as you suggest. Yet, if this is true, I wonder if and how they could restore the unique emerald colour of those pools in the video.

@@mikisivan th-cam.com/video/TFCiiczByTc/w-d-xo.html It seems true that it was restored.

@@Zippism I wonder whether this is true video. As you can see in 1:34 timestamp they took out of focus the middle part of the lake and i wonder why.
I looks a bit like propaganda to attract again visitors but I hope that i am wrong and somehow they were able to restore the colours (although i can't understand how)
