We had HUGE brahmas on the land surrounding our property. I remember 2 times we didnt have to go to school cause the bulls were fighting at our bus stop.
@zmurfy420 that's cuz it is, grew up country till I was like 18, maybe 17 right before I turned 18, then I just started wanting to go see the world more than livestock and grass I guess lmao. Still love it and am back at it 10 years later, but man watching 2 go at each other just gives you this rush, even more so if they start when your tryna round them up, makes a whole big fuss and that's when it's terrifying, you never know when one decides it wants to hit on you next!
I had something similar happen with some black angus and we’ll let the cows into our pasture that has a small apple orchard and the rest field and I got stuck in an apple tree for hours because rhe friend I was with threw an apple and hit one of the bulls and and then two years later we had a red angus bull with some cows and I found a deer shed mind you it was mid breeding season and I hopped out of the side by side to grab it I got too the shed and all I see is the bull running right at me and I wasn’t thinking go to the thing it was scared of a few feet away I went for the gate and got thrown over it let’s just say I wasn’t the smartest kid
We traded all our rowdy cows, including some Brahma for Angus. Calmer, didn't have to pull calves, less rodeo antics, small at birth & grow fast. After another 20 years, traded down to Dexters and couldn't be happier. All the benefits of Angus in a smaller, smarter, easier to handle package.
@@piggyslayer1999 No, but the auction prices have gone up quite a bit over the years anyway (with the usual seasonal variability). Those are insane prices, and makes me feel sorry for anyone having to buy meat in the future. 😕

You got to realise when you are working around stock like that you got to use your cattle yards properly if you don’t it is very dangerous. Specially when you are working around Baram and cattle I have seen them take gates off hinges and a lot of other things that you can imagine what they can do. I have worked around them for years longer than 22 years work your yards properly and you won’t get hurt
Im a farmers daughter son whatever tf you cal me, we decided to sell and butcher our animals instead of working them after crops were pulling in enough
I’ve been working cattle the past 19 years from brangus, red angus, Brahman, limousine, hereford, & Dexter. That cow would have definitely stopped. Work your cattle often. They will know the routine. Be respectful and they will show respect. Ranch hand for life. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. Forever Farm tough 💪
In my younger days i worked with cattle, some folks will never understand these animals might seem docile behind the fence line but dont be fooled those jokers will mess you up if you're not careful. Sometimes momma Cows are just as dangerous as a Bull
Almost got ran over by one on my uncle’s farm. We were herding them out of the gate as they were being sold. Luckily one of the ranchers on horseback intercepted and saved my ass. These things are no joke.
Brahman are wild but it's not like what most of yall are thinking. She didn't actually commit to getting him. Good thing too because like he said. She wasn't stopping 😅
This reminds me of my first time dehorning and castrating. I was running a little guy down a chute and he turned around on me. Being brand new to working cows, I panicked and ran back towards the entrance only to knock myself out on a crossbar. I woke up with the cow standing over me and my granddad trying to breathe from laughing so hard. Good times. 😅

Big animals with a lot of mass. As a butcher ive seen them lift up two or three sections of those style fences when they dont wanna go where youre leading them

I mean its just physics. A 200 pound human will not stop a 2,000 pound animal that doesnt want to stop. So it's either move, or be moved very violently.

When from scared to calm in half a second.

And this is why you are always watching every cow in the pen good catch
Life flashed before the farmers eyes, and before them stood death in the form of a cow, with the only thing keeping them apart, a metal gate
As someone who's been a brahma's neck tie. Wise choice.
