another way to find the place is: 1) close your lips (they should remain closed throughout) 2) make a humming sound, alternating between an 'm' sound and an 'n' sound for several seconds 3) eventually stop on the 'n' sound 4) stop humming and open your mouth .....your tongue should be in the optimal position
I have been working on tongue posture, proper swallowing patterns, and breathing and have found my spinal and cervical extension has improved, as well as my speech being clearer and more pronounced. Definitely believe in the profound influence the tongue can have on one's quality of life.
Not sure if it's this one, came across it by chance and he refers back to some tongue video th-cam.com/video/i3DKQ7EPnys/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Klz5ayDoQZ1LJNpP
This was great, thanks, I've been looking for "exercises to help a stuttering child" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Deyarper Especial Dominance - (just google it ) ? It is a smashing exclusive guide for discovering how to get rid of your stuttering once and for all without the normal expense. Ive heard some super things about it and my m8 got excellent results with it.
It seems like a more precise version, though. Mewing mostly just says, press your tongue to the roof of your mouth. This shows you how to do it right, or at least clams to.
@@JohnMoseley mewing is just a fad name for the tropic premise. The tropic premise is laid out in John mews paper it states the full tongue should be up on the roof of the mouth, teeth lightly touching, and lips sealed.
i can literally feel asymmetry of my jaw/teeth/skull altogether buy placing my tongue in the Spot. the way it lays - clearly, one half of it is more intact and touches the teeth differently. Discovered mewing a while ago but only started adopting it recently, so it is very interesting to see this video as a different perspective on the same thing and without the term "mewing" involved. just Zeh Spot. anyway, I'm practicing it regularly now just as an experiment. only about a week in. Keeping my tongue in Zeh spot as much as I can consciously do so. on average 2-3- hrs a day. sometimes more like 7-8. it is very hard to drink beer or smoke or both, especially both, while practicing this. so i strongly recommend everyone and me in particular to never look in the mirror sober. because you are perfect the way you are!
Interesting! My t’ai ch’i Sifu would start every class by reminding us of some helpful cues, including “tongue to the roof of the mouth, just behind the front teeth.”
Yes it is which is why we found the study so interesting. We are hoping to see some larger scale studies done in the coming years to explore further. Thank you
Thanks for the video! I have a question, what parte of the tongue should be touching the roof, all only the back the middle or the tip? Thank you very much!
I can put my tongue in that position, and hold it there-but what if it feels like it's gagging me a bit? Then what. Maybe it's some structural issue? But what is the step to deal with it? I dont even know what kind of doctor (covered by insurance) would deal with that kind of issue. (I've been going to a chiropracter, and do have a referral for a pulmonologist soon...). Thoughts on next steps?
Do you think it could help with producing more saliva? My mouth is very dry and sticky and only producing a little saliva due to mold exposure that affected my nervous system.
Good question with a less than satisfactory answer... Maybe! Autonomic dysfunction may need to be looked at from a variety of perspectives so we don't know if this particular exercise will be helpful but certainly worth discussing with your healthcare team. Good luck in your rehab!
Just say “No”, and where the tip if your tongue lands with the “N” sound, is the proper placement, then press the rest of your tongue on roof of mouth.
It actually opens nasal passages. Im almond 20 and for most of my life i struggled with breathing at night and sometimes woke up at the middle of the nights because i had trouble breathing. I have practicing this for couple of months and within a week or two, u might get the benefits. This practice is nowadays called mewing. There are many benefits that u can search up online. The trend was starting by Dr Mike Mew, check out his videos, he talks about everything related to tongue posture.
@@sugarapple5465 Have you determined the source of your blocked nostrils? Any moments they’ve cleared up? I’m curious to hear how your practice is going now
Kinetic Sage It’s hard to remember to keep my tongue up. I remember it occasionally but somehow I find the tip of my tongue pressing up and the rest down.

Hi what exercises did you do? I’d really appreciate the info
I recommend Mewing exercises, you can check out Dr. Mike Mew’s Orthotropics channel.
Educative video. The tongue exercise is elementary step to khechari mudra, an ancient practice to calm the mind.
This is the page I didn't know I needed.

This exercise advisable for a person undergone with head surgery 3 yrs ago. Thanks for sharing.🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the video. It's amazing how difficult it is to do this 3X time per hour everyday. Namaste
Glad it was helpful! And, yes, building the new habit is challenging for us all!
Looking forward to checking out some more of your content! 👏👍

This sounds a lot like mewing.
Yes it does

That's called bridging the gap, it connects the conception and governor vessel so you can begin completing the small circulation
Thank you sharing this video.if possible plz share 2nd part also
Absolutely true!! Love this video
Can you link part two about the exercises to help with vision? Thank you!
This is great, thanks! Is there a link to the upcoming second video that he mentioned? I’m having trouble finding it!
Tonque calisthenics- close your mouth rotate your tongue in a circle behind your lips 15X to the right, then 15x to the left and feel the burn.
Much needed information. Thanks a lot doc.

Excellent thank you for hating this information
Was there ever a part 2?
This is really interesting thanks for this video
Check out posture pro eye and feet coordination exercises along with this too.
It feels like this is where my tongue always sets and always has ???
Maybe you just don't have a problem with it?
Just wanted to say the studies quoted have a pool of 18 participants each. Also i wish there was a diagram. It’s curious

nice to copy-paste the study links in description.
Great
Hi!! Im sorry maybe i didnt got it but which will be the position of the tongue ? the incorrect possition is near the teeth without touch it?
Saying sing aloud with the premise one the "n" part leads your tongue to a simolar spot, i don't know how precise that is though.
I can only hold this position 1 time before my gag reflex is stimulated. Even holding the correct position stimulates my gag, how do I correct this.
So not just the tip of the tounge but tounge up in all of the hard palate?
Hey Doc. did you like the studies mentioned?
Where's part two please?

I’m getting my tongue tie and lip tie cut this month , will it make keeping my tongue on the roof easier ?
My ex gf kept wanting me to find the spot too. Thanks for the help.

im 30 and i always thought i have forward neck posture and bad breathing and literally neck breather. i didn't use my tongue at all.
Wow
Interesting, right?
Absolutely, and thank you!
Is this ok to do even with an overbite?
I came here for the redhead in the thumbnail 😢
When I do that my tongue doesn't at all touch my front teeth. Wasn't that the point? Don't get it
Very informative
But why ru in so much hurry u can explain it slowly
Cool. I learned this from a Cartoon.
🤣
I can’t do it
What is the best way to finding the spot, without any teeth?
when you feel the humpty dumpty like roof of your gums then just think of your tongue resting on it.
Part 2 please like promesed?

for the cheesy grin it feels like im burping down or backwards. First try tho.
Is the swallow while grinning or after?
While grinning
