Morning Dave, I’m late and blaming it on the time change…yeah that’s it, the time change.
The drought has affected everything and the bees aren’t probably any happier than we are!
    Coffee ready!

Time change doesn’t matter much when you’re retired like me😊

    Always thought bees are interesting.
We used to move loads of hives from around Black Duck to Goleta California every autumn, and back in the spring.
The owner would winter them in the avocado groves.
Timely video. It was this time of year that the seed catalogs came to make us think of spring.
    Thank you Dave.

Thanks. We’ve thought about connecting with a company that would transport bees each winter. Maybe next year.

I enjoy honey, an interesting process. You left us with two cliff hangers.😂👍

Always like seeing honey spun and filtered.. a little wax doesn't hurt at the end.. 😋

It’s a great hobby with tasty results but it’s a lot of work. Dawn sells out a single hive immediately.

Might be a dumb question, but is the wax useful at all? Candles ect?

It’s very useful for a wide range of products like lip balm, soap, boot waterproofing and more. Our local bee keepers market beeswax as value-added to the honey business.

I know a guy down by the Twin Cities that bee keeps, He gave me a small block of unfiltered honey one time, that stuff was good.....Interesting video. It was good visiting with you today....Thanks Dave.

We feel the unprocessed honey taken from our hive significantly reduces allergy symptoms for the two of us. Like all farmers we spend the year outside in stuff that makes you sneeze. Honey produced from those same plants is a natural remedy.
Great to see you and Kaj. He seems like a very capable young man.

Something I am interested in looking into.

Dawn is the expert. She took classes at U of M and shadowed a couple of local bee keepers. You’re in a great location for bees. You’ll make more money off honey than TH-cam😅, and do a lot more for the crops in your area😉.
