Amazing that at the age of 7 when Amira visited SA, she recognized the plight of the township children, and determined that when she was in a position to help, she would do so. And she is totally right about the value of play. As she says, aid agencies often provide food and shelter, but go no further. She is wise beyond her years, as well as being a super singing talent. I have made a donation to the Geluskinders charity, and would implore others who watch this video to do likewise. She would really like two million, and then she can build a complete athletics facility! Let's help her...
That would seem to be a facet of Amira's character that is over-looked by just listening to her vocal talents. Her sparkling intelligence, especially when dealing with adults, is endearing. She shows a single-mindedness beyond her years, and these guys were stretching her boredom levels.
Bing translation in English WOW, Amira is here already so mature in her thinking and statements (including its worldly vision). Amira is the best Ambassador as child's voice and this project. Amira world is a great example, and not only for children but also for adults. Amira, a girl to be proud of..
Nice, pretty, good family, and friends what else do u need... Amira sure is one gifted kid I'm happy to live a life just to hear a voice of one so gifted and deserved, amazing she is... I wish she u dest and what I'm saying too cuz she deserved compliment more than I could've say
AMIRA...
You say throughout the show that grown-ups do not listen enough to children. Then you all talk loudly and incessantly without letting the only child on the show getting a word in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful and sweet like always, Amira... It's a shame this video has no subtitles! I don't understand nearly nothing... :( But it doesn't matter... more videos will come. And tones in the future
It's a talk about a plan to have adults listen more to children's ideas and thinking!she says her own idea is a playground in south-africa because it's something children doesn't have there while having fun is the most important thing in life for a child!
First she says she would like to build a playing ground in south-africa, because when adults want to donate some money to poor children, they usually give food or clothes. That's good, but children exist for having fun and therefore she was like wait they haven't got anything to play with.
Second she thanks the people taking her idea serieus and help her to achieve it, because many people only ask her to sing and aren't very interested in her ideas, so like if she wants to talk about it, people are like : just sing don't talk. So she appreciates people who are actually interested in her ideas.
+Dion Visser And Appel tjeee!! ??? Thank you very much for pointing to the jest of the agenda herein. A person does not have to be old to have wisdom. From the mouth of babes can come original ideas even, as their minds are not yet cluttered with useless baggage and political correctness. I come from an ethnic culture that lives by, "Find a need an fill it!" In this mindset instilled at an early age, one is likely to be healthy, happy and never unemployed, nor without something to do.I had some rentals on the north side of Tulsa inner city, mostly a small enclave of Mexican immigrants from Guanajuato, with plenty of young children. A duplex burned right beside my house and rather to invest in building it back (not cost effective in the neighborhood), I instead constructed a park on the double-lot where I could see the children (including my 8-year-old daughter) playing from my in-home office picture window. The city had a nice park 2-blocks East, but it was NOT a safe place for children (or anybody else). We had women sitting at picnic tables watching the children weekdays, and the whole neighborhood there every weekend up into the night cooking on the 2 grills. Best thing I ever did!! Amira knows what she is talking about. A child needs sustenance for their young bodies true, and love, but also need a safe place to play where a kid can just be a kid! People like Amira may not be able to change the world, but she CAN make the difference for some, NOW! Yesterday is gone, tomorrow will be today when it get here; the moment we live in is NOW! If more would do what they can today, we could have a better world NOW. Seems Amira already knows. She IS amazing!!
Jup, everyone in the Netherlands pas 13 can speak pretty well here :) Its ore second language beside our primary language :) I can tell you the first part is about really boring. Then its getting better haha
+Dion Visser I cycle toured in France, Holland and Germany last year. Every single Dutch person I spoke to spoke nearly perfect english. The french were almost as good but I came across few in Germany who did. It puts we english to shame that hardly any of us have a second language. I'm trying to learn French as it is easier to pronounce than Dutch or German.
+fred Many similarities between German and Dutch - I have a reasonable knowledge of German, and I can get a little gist of what's going on in Dutch. My best other language is French though, and it's fun chatting to people in their own language, and they're usually forgiving if it's a bit mangled or ungrammatical.
Yep, we don't need to understand what she says. We've probably heard it hundred times in previous videos and interviews. After all, hers is still the same known story. It'd be nice to know if she's getting some solid voice production and singing lessons from a good teacher, to prepare the foundations of her voice for the future when she reaches 18-20. Oh well we won't know much about that. Instead of Amira | official (her dad), we'd need to hear from Amira | Personal. He usually is unable to organize for an English translation. Tant pis. Peccato. Schade. it matters not. However, she is so cute, so beautiful, she radiates such intelligence, discipline, and will that it matters not if we don't understand a word of all this Dutch conversation. Let's relax and just enjoy her beautiful images.
This item is actually primarily about theyouth.org and it's covenant that adults should listen more to children and value there opinion instead of brushing them aside. The dopey glasses guy is a presenter of the Dutch news for kids daily tv show and apparently a driving force behind youth.org. Amira is there as an example of a child with great ideas. Namely her charity foundation for creating playgrounds in south africa, the home country of her mother. As someone mentioned already she wants everyone in her home province to buy a cupcake for her cause and raise 2 million that way for playgrounds. Interestingly on one question by the presenter if people listened to her more because she is a famous singer she answered that it is quite the opposite. 'Adults' only want to hear her sing and when she brings up her charity they are not interested anymore. She quickly however followed this up with saying that some adults actually do listen to children and to her. In particular the adults who help her with her foundation because she cant do it alone. (Like a true pro she gives credits where credits are due) The main guy follows on with how he visits children all over the world and how happy they are that at least some adults do want to listen to them, again stating that adults can learn from children even if children arent always right per se. Also conversations with children will bring a smile to everyones face and children will ask diffferent and unexpected questions to what adults would expect.
Its about amira, she had the plan to create playgrounds for children in afrika. She already build one there, the second one is coming soon. Its also about how adults think about the children in afrika, they give clothes and foods etcetera. She thought about the facts that a playground is really good to take care of there traumas theyve had. They try to grow the cooperation and collecting mony with the sell of cupcakes for even more growing of the project. The cooperation is trying to give children more chance to speak out their ideas and listen to them, they got a lot of thought different between ideas, they have great ideas, where adults will never get on. The guy is just talking trash :p
+Phillip Crews Ah oke. He is talking much furter about the coorperation. He tells how he thinks about it, what their future plans are and how he is going to help furter in future. Its hard for me to latterly translate everything for you. So i hope you get the storyboard a little better :)

This is an interesting language. Would be nice to understand what Amira is saying though. (:
I answered to someone else the whole store of this vid in English. Just check it out and you'll know the storyline some better ;)

Hoi
SCHANDE!!!
Ho
