    How in the world did Palou not get a blocking penalty against Castroneves? I've seen drive-throughs for far less than that through the years. Even Ericson on Rossi would usually be called about 8-12 years ago.

      Yeah... They're "letting them race" but this is more like letting them be dirty and dangerous which is going to end badly at some point.

      @@eggselent9814 "9.3.2. Blocking - A Driver must not alter his/her racing line to pursuing Drivers." You don't have to swing wide to make the corner. If you take the inside line, hold the inside line.

      Starting on the black tires was the winning move. Graham and Scotty Mac started on the reds, pit early, then got stuck midfield entire race unable to move up.

    There was so much talent in DTM. Such a shame its become another GT3 series. Alex Palou was fun to watch there and hes fun to watch here.

    Gutted for grosjean, the blocking and passing was super aggressive all race, some races ruined over a pass for 10th, saw only a few sterwards decisons for some blatant takeout driving

      This isn’t F1. They get to race in this league which is why it’s so fun to watch. F1 are slower and there are too many rules. Racing is supposed to be a little dangerous and since they are driving in F18 cockpits at this point, let ‘em go!

      @@donaldducklas4155f1 is most definitely not slower. I’m a fan of both but Top speed on an oval is irrelevant. Put them on the same road course and the slowest f1 car on the grid this year will still lap faster than an Indycar. I’d love for that to not be true but it is

    Palou is enjoying himself, F1 can rotation on an air gun for all he cares. That was a more exciting race than the F1 race this morning.

      I disagree with you I watched F1 this morning and it was a very excited race to watch!! Overtakes!! Charles Lecrer and Carlos Sainz put up a good fight. I watched Portland Grand Prix in person today and the race was a procession, a procession of cars, no overtakes!! It's nice to see the cars going 200 miles an hour though

    I have been crowing all season about Indy outshining F1 because of officials not corrupting the sport, but holding off the full course yellow, so a McLaren could pit is scandalous and puts all motorsports in to disrepute now. I am growing evermore depressed by this cheating in sport. Palou was going to win anyway, but by this disregard for safety, it just throws a dark cloud over it all. To not review a clear case of blocking earlier in the race also states an agenda. What is it these days about not letting drivers with 6 or 7 titles have a fair crack at another?

      Grojean can be blindingly fast, you don't win championships and get F1 podiums unless your quick. He does get into a lot of scuffles on the track though, I wonder about his racing instincts. he has the speed to win but whether it's luck of lack or race craft he needs to avoid all these incidents. I am a Grojean fan by the by :)

    I must say there are a lot of cowboys out there, Half the field should’ve been black flag that includes the winner so bloody dangerous. I’m glad this title racing doesn’t happen in Australia. It seems like it’s all or nothing in America which is kind of crazy. I must say though it makes it good to watch

      It’s a good track. Wide enough for passing but gets narrow in parts, not a ton of room for mistakes. Makes for tight and hard racing.

      multi-line track. the rubber buildup also adds a "unique-ish" dynamic towards the race towards its end

    Ok the cautions thing is getting ridiculous, half the field just went by Canapino at full tilt. This kind of hemming and hawwing about throwing the yellow got Bianchi killed.

    Nothing says "true champion" quite like a triple-veer, double-block move to try to keep Castroneves back. (And nothing says "saving face" quite like IndyCar ignoring it.) C'mon, Alex! You're better than that! Be a man! (And shame on you, Indycar, for looking the other way! This is a safety issue -- just as much for Palou as for Kirkwood!)

    I love IndyCar and usually don't have anything negative to say but IMO the officials in race control made a couple bad calls today that most likely effected a couple teams negatively. Besides that, it's been a great year and look forward to 2024.Btw am I the only one who doesn't like the mandatory tire use?

    I'm not an IndyCar fan (I am A NASCAR Fan, and not so much xFinity) But I'm considering taking the weekend in the spring to see NASCAR in action at PDX. It's only a 200 mile one way shot. and IndyCar makes the track look REALLY racy

      Definitely not his fault here. Dust cloud, driver on his right, and the driver in front rejoining knowing there's traffic behind him at speed contributed to it. Nowhere to go, not enough time to brake.

      It's North American tradition to do rolling starts. Also, the cars aren't designed to do standing starts effectively.
