The timed races are brutal. A 45 minute race might be only 15 min of green flag racing. At a track where you can see very little of the live action, they need to find a way to clear cautions faster
Not watching indy, but by watching this, I feel supported by this. Cars are horrible and drivers also. Never seen so many driving mistakes in one race.

@moshegoldberg9685 Not sure how he rates to Herta, especially given time for both to hit their peaks. Agree with not setting F1 world on fire. Only Villeneuve could do it, in the best car, while on slicks. Once it went to grooved tyres in 98 he lost the edge he had, although was still pretty quick.

Grosjean has got to put it together otherwise his career will likely reserved to the Lamborghini Prototypes which doesn't sound too terrible but we all know where he'd rather be. Hopefully Mid Ohio is a turn around

Yup he will join McLaren witj a pretty big probablility. However if we look at McLarens pace so far, they look pretty good. Palou is also way more consistent than O‘Ward so he is still a Top-driver

Yea, I've watched him in F1 for 10 years. Consistency or having a cool head has never been one of his strengths. He's quick and I love his aggressive racing, but hes missing the winner mentality.

As an F1 fan this looks interesting.. there's battles all throughout the race. The top positions seem to be disputed until the end. And there's a thousand cars running haha
Im kinda impressed by the toughness of these cars. Usually when guys bury it off track, their day is entirely done. These cars just shake it off and get back to running.
They really have done a great job with this generation of car. Those things are tough! The current generation NASCAR Cup car almost seems fragile in comparison.
Shout-out to the suspension being made out of forged steel and not carbon fiber, makes em able to take alot of hits before needing replacement. And of course the aero on these cars are simpler yet robust.
This race was way better then f1s race today in my opinion. Max pretty much dominated the whole race and wasn’t even contested for p1. Indy however this is different for me I really enjoyed this race I was tuned in the whole time really chaotic and thrilling with all those cars on the track it was great 👍🏻 no disrespect to f1 god I love f1 but this was new for me Indy is cool and I will be watching more for sure.
@@didickcheeseburger reliability of the cars has also improved, really few technical failures. However, there has pretty much always been a dominating team within the last 30 years, except for maybe 4-5 seasons. 1998 still my favourite season

Well I was at the race and thought Herta's tires went out didn't realize he was a sitting duck getting fuel numbers because Andretti screwed up strategy yet again. Palou was a monster his technique is pure precision. Alex uses every inch of the track. Josef was fast but probably pushing the limits with his aggressive driving and I say that as a huge fan. Still legal and even when he hip checks he does it so they don't wreck. Dixon was in stealth mode sneaking through the field so far, when I saw him that advanced I thought he had another pit stop to make. Nope just Scott being Scott. This was good because the day before I watched him make one of the stupidest moves I can remember. It sent will Power back a decade and the double birds were flying. Dixon fessed up but the mirrors are there for a reason. Pato after more drama made a race of it fine job by Pato. I was so hopeful for Rossi, but he only seems to race his team mate hard now? Grosjean I called that before the race began.... I was so ready to see him as a championship contender after a phenomenal start to the season and then onto a great IndyCar career. Not sure if he will be driving for Andretti next year if this keeps up. Kirkwood deserves honorable mention, and Santino got screwed left and right today. Armstrong was looking good until Ganassi pulled an Andretti on him.

@@ronbelanger4113 the current car is relatively slow, probably slightly slower than a gp2 but surely faster than gp3. ideally they're a little faster. the old aero kit was faster but super ugly. and, the comment was on the track. most F1 tracks (Tilke) are horrible. this is a very good track.
Palou is quickly becoming the Verstappen of IndyCar....3 race wins in the last 4, and that could've easily been 4 had Veekay not spun into him in the 500. Shame for Armstrong...he was running so high up until that caution...always a bad idea to pit right after the caution period. As for Grosjean, that was as worse it could get for him this year. So many off track excursions in one race is never ideal
Why are they letting Newgarden get away with driving like a brute? Multiple unavoidable contacts and forcing people off circuit like it’s Wreckfest or something. Someone needs to clock him. And fast.
Apparently Colton Herta's pit wall referenced the Ferrari F1 Strategy Guide, screwing him out of not only a win but even a podium.
Ironically on the same day Ferrari finally does a good strategy.

This series gets better and better. Kirkwood fought back into the top 10, Palou outstanding, passing throughout the field.

I too like F1 but it's become far too predictable. I don't get excited to watch it anymore.

we just got over hamilton/mercedes dominating only to trade it for max/red bull dominating. f1 is getting dull to me

Went to several CART races at Road America in the early 90’s. Best place to watch were the bleachers above turn 5. Great memories!

@@ronbelanger4113 the current car is relatively slow, probably slightly slower than a gp2 but surely faster than gp3. ideally they're a little faster. the old aero kit was faster but super ugly. and, the comment was on the track. most F1 tracks (Tilke) are horrible. this is a very good track.

Palou is quickly becoming the Verstappen of IndyCar....3 race wins in the last 4, and that could've easily been 4 had Veekay not spun into him in the 500.
Shame for Armstrong...he was running so high up until that caution...always a bad idea to pit right after the caution period. As for Grosjean, that was as worse it could get for him this year. So many off track excursions in one race is never ideal
