    Sound travel in air at the speed of about 330m/s, and about 4.4 times faster in water (1450m/s)
    That means the actual min/max measure distance in water is also 4.4 times in air
    20x4.4=88cm is the minimum hardware limit

      The module wasn't meant to be used underwater, I just tried it, it doesn't measure anything, with the underwater calibration you see it's detecting something but when you put it underwater it doesn't change, that 93cm is fixed

    • @SurtrTech

      @Ahmet Yasin Öztürk Yes, the module is just waterproof, not meant to measure underwater, and that value (93cm) was stuck whatever the distance underwater

    I really enjoyed the video. I'm going to experiment whether I can measure water and ice using the same sensor.
    I am worried because the value is minute.

    I NEED A SENSOR which gives 50 data every second. And it must measure the distance fastly (like 20 milliseconds) And it will measure long-range (like 4-5 meters). Do you have any suggestions?

    Thank you for the video. I HAVE A QUESTİON: Is it sensitive in far? For example, can ı measure the 4 meters outside? I am doing an autonomous car. It will be big and it will travel outside on a road which between barriers. So the car will measure the distance between the barriers and the car. It must measure at least four meters. Do you have any advice for me about which sensor ı should use?
    I need to take responses fastly (

    Can you kindly make video showing how to use two of Waterproof Ultrasonic Sensor Modules JSN-SR04T-2.0 + Blynk App, to read the water level in "two tanks" togeher and derive the quantity of water in each. Using this activate a relay to pump water from one tank to another. It will be great if you can also include a cheap 16x4 or Nokia display.Thanks,

      Hello, I will probably make videos about IoT, but it needs some time (sorry).
      You need to replace the Arduino with a board that supports WiFi like ESP32 or ESP8266 12E, using blynk is realy easy you'll just need to send those values to the app and add a button for Relay

    Thanks for the video,
    Can you tell any sensor which can sense the water depth .
    It should be floating,
    I want the distance from the surface of water to bottom.,

    • @SurtrTech
      @SurtrTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use any ultrasonic module to detect the surface of the water in a container that you already know its depth and with a little math you can know the level but the module should be suspended above the container.
      Another solution maybe try some laser range finders but it should be waterproof.
      There are maybe some ultrasonics that works underwater like TD1000K

      @@SurtrTech bro the sensor will sense under water if you make it on and off giving a delay .
      At the time of delay the sensor should change the position .
      And when it gets ON the reading will be different than before .so make the sensor On and OFF
      WITH delay.
      I think it will work .
      Will you please try and tell the results.

    • @SurtrTech

      Hello, to sum up, no it won't work, this sensor is just waterproof and as tested, when you put it underwater it always measures the minimum distance (around 20cm) but as you can see I did some modifications considering the sound speed in air or water, it always measured around 90cm.
      Better get a sonar or some other module.

I started research in this area, can anyone help, which sensor to take an inexpensive one, preferably from Aliexpress, so that it works under water. The purpose of my project is to measure the speed of sound underwater, in a sewer pipe with a diameter of 11 cm and a length of 1.1m, I need your help in recommending a sensor.

    Hello, can I and how can I convert it to mL?

    • @SurtrTech
      @SurtrTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Consider the liquid as a cylinder (depending on the liquid recipient... here it's a cup) you should already know the radius you then have to measure the elevation (level) ... apply the formula...

    • @wilfredreyes4343
      @wilfredreyes4343 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are supposed to measure the water level with a capacity of 500mL. Here is our code, is it correct? We already uploaded it but there seems to be a problem since it isn't accurate?
      distance=duration*0.034/2;
      volume=(sa*distance)*0.0001;
      volumeFinal=waterH-volume;
      Serial.print(volumeFinal);

    • @wilfredreyes4343
      @wilfredreyes4343 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 0.0001 is the conversion from cm to mL. The sa is the surface area. The waterH is the maximum capacity which is 500mL, from that we subtracted the multiplied distance and volume of the bottle.

    • @SurtrTech
      @SurtrTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wilfredreyes4343 The method seems right, but I didn't try it to tell you exactly, if this doesn't work you can try to multiply the distance measured by a value to get you the right volume you may add/susbstarct a value too (slope and intercept)... Take two known levels 0 and 500 for example and work it:
      for 0 "water level" the sensor will give you a value... the negative of this value is your intercept, add it to the last formula and from now on you'll get 0 when the bottle is empty.
      for 500 "water level" the sensor will give another value too... 500=(sensorvalue)*slope + intercept, you know the intercept and sensor value, now calculate the slope.
      This method may work as well, please don't forget to make sure that the sensor detects the water, I forgot if this one can do it or not

      Good day, sudden realization here. My bottle is only 500mL and the sensor has a measuring range right? Can the sensor still measure the whole volume of water inside the bottle? Thank you very much! You have been a big help to our project!
