[Builder's view] Tamiya 1/24 Subaru Impreza WRC '98 Monte-Carlo is in progress.
The window parts are a single piece that covers the front, back, and sides, but since the doors were modified to open, the side windows need to be cut out and turned into separate parts. Using a chisel and an etching saw, careful cuts were made to avoid cracking. Usually, the window frames would be painted after applying decals and polishing, but this time they’re painted first. This way, there’s no need to worry about masking.

Hi Kenji, the black trim looks like separately applied parts because they are so crisp looking. I always cringe when you cut the clear parts. I've never seen you mess one up though. So much fun to watch. Thank you for sharing Kenji, and have a great weekend.

クリアパーツのカット、痺れますね。😅
傷のリカバーもですが、割れの恐怖があって自分はまだチャレンジできないです。
厚みもあって安易に薄くしようとすると、傷は消えないし、割れの恐怖は増してきますので…😅
こういった作業を難なくこなす方の動画を拝見していると、もしかしたら自分にも出来るかもと錯覚してしまいますが、挑戦する方はパーツ請求可能なキットでやられることを強くオススメします。
間違っても絶版キットでやろうなどと思わないことです。😅
クリアコートの前に窓枠を塗るのは何故なんでしょう？
窓枠をマスキングしてクリアを塗る段取りが増えるだけのような気が…😮
理由が明かされる時を楽しみにお待ちしていますね。😊

お疲れさまです。
クリアーパーツは素材的にすぐに割れたりヒビが簡単に入るので怖いです。
ヤスリを当てるのも怖いです。元通りになるんかな…と不安ですよ。
絶版キットでは恐ろしいですね。バキュームで作り直すつもりでチャレンジしたほうがいいかも…😅
