General coffee bean question, the small bags of different beans I've purchased have all smelt of ash, this is before I make a drink and even after.. is this down to the beans I've chosen or will all bags have this smell?
@@workshopcoffee9001 Yes, I've tried various roasters but nothing from Workshop Coffee maybe it's just me but when I smell the beans the overwelling smell is ash
@@paulantcliffe9704 Most likely it is the coffee, as darker roasts will have an ashy aroma. If this isn't desirable then we'd suggest looking for lighter roasted coffee.

Hi Paul - is this is reference to coffees you pick up from a variety of different roasters?
