    That train was about 2.8 miles long. Wow! I originally thought those LNG locomotives ran on gas completely, but I read in the latest issue of Trains Magazine that they actually use a mixture of diesel and LNG.

      I believe that they start on diesel and add natural gas as the load increases. The diesel ignition acts as "spark plug" for the LNG.

    That's the longest train I've ever seen! I wonder, what is the world record for number of cars hauled. Great job of cinematography!

    The blue fits well with the bridge. The FEC/ Brightline has chosen a beautiful color. Greetings from Berlin/ Germany. Sven

    That's really impressive. Just the sheer length of these trains and the fact they are getting longer by the year as demand increases

    Just think of the strength of the couplers ... the one behind the last loco is pulling the entire load 👀

    Enjoying your videos from Dallas TX, especially Crane Creek bridge. I grew up in Melbourne near Eau Gallie River FEC bridge. Any progress on replacement bridge over that river or Sarno Rd crossing?

    Was the audio captured by the drone?
    If so, pretty amazing filtering of the drone's noise.

    What are the open containers at 1:35 for? I have never seen anything like it

      Those are flat rack containers for loads that won't fit in regular containers. They are often used for construction supplies, machinery, vehicles, etc.

    What drone are you using that you can record sound?

    • @RoamingRailfan
      @RoamingRailfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sound is from a separate camera on the ground

    Was the footage sped up?

      @RoamingRailfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, that was its actual speed.
