@@rainehappy7097 Yeah, a remix/medley like in the first Online game would've been nice too... And while I want more references to older Phantasy Star game (mainly Online for me) I feel like Sega got shy to put fanservice in PSO2 (I see more crossovers for the skins than Phantasy Star stuff...)
It was the intention of the Earthlings to purposely soften up the Algo citizens so they could take over the Algo system for themselves after Earth was destroyed. They were pulling the strings of the system, banning space travel to prevent people from questioning things, hence why Mother Brain banned space travel after a ship Rolf/Eusis was in was in an accident 10 years prior to the game's events. They purposely induced the sequence of events to maintain tighter control on the citizens of the system. In one of Phantasy Star III's endings, the Alisa III is taken back in time to Earth before the planet was destroyed via a Wormhole in space-time. Dark Force influenced the Earthlings and corrupted them and facilitated their actions to destroy Earth so they could wind up destroying Palma to weaken the seal on the Profound Darkness. Of course, it is hard to tell if the real reason was a time loop, if not, it may have only happened after the first incident of Earth's destruction if the loop theory is true, and DF just infested the Earthlings aboard their ship corrupting them like they did to Lassaic in Phantasy Star I to initiate the loop. Phantasy Star III is not a loved game by many, but it may answer questions as to what lead to Dark Force affecting Earthlings since DF is a manifestation of the Profound Darkness that manifests outside of the seal every 1,000 years and cannot travel far from the Algo system unless aided or being carried by something or someone. In short, Dark Force more or less messed with space-time to facilitate the destruction of Earth faster than expected so it can return to Algo far stronger and with more tools needed (AKA Gaira) to destroy one of the planets which is helping keep the Profound Darkness sealed up.
The reason I asked is because I don't hear the part at 2:00 in Death Place at all. Is that part new or did I just find an incomplete version of Death Place?
@@Hextator I checked myself and well, yeah that part you're mentionning is exclusive to PSO2, apparently they only did take a 20 secs part from PS2 and modernised it (at 0:40 to 1:00), but the rest of the song is mostly new then
Well, at least when SEGA has new and original ideas for music, they stay untainted, unlike when they have new and original ideas for gameplay, like the subclass system, which they just patch out with major updates

@@ericmikesell5026 That's... actually kinda what happened. Eventually, a Dark Falz containing the powers of all four PSO2 Falzes fought in Episodes 1-3 merges with and takes over her, and makes this body for itself.
@@Tynorg She does play a similar role to Mother Brain as the boss of Mother Cluster who had influence over the Earth though. Was it explained how that Dark Falz came into existence btw? (Or how Apprentice came back in the anime?) I mean with Persona it made sense because he had the power of the Akashic Record.
@@mattwo7 That Dark Falz was created from Persona/PD, I think? I had to stop for a second once I recognized the music. Almost got me killed, nostalgia through music should be considered a status effect XD
it isn't already considered that ? :o
7:31 so fcking epic this part lol
Hearing this newer version of Death Place makes this old soul smile

REMAKE PHANTASY STAR I-IV. I DON'T MEAN THE PS2 ERA ONES, I MEAN A STRAIGHT UP FULLY ANIMATED CG REMAKE!!!!
Mother Brain's battle music remixed from Phantasy Star II!! Wooo!!
One of the best boss theme in the serie huh?

What caused the original Mother Brain to go ape-shit I wonder. Dark Falz was trapped in a box back then

yeah! this title is The Whole New World.
Is the part at 2:00 a reference to one of the older games too? If so, which song is it referencing?
this music is mostly a rework of Mother's music, the final boss of Phatasy Star 2, the music is called "Death Place" in both PSO2 and PS2 as a result

From what i could gather, it's mostly based on that Mother Brain music yeah, but this one is more modern sounding
It's a remix yeah (same for MB in PSU)
