What a great idea Andy. Thanks. My old body was getting a bit tired of just the old leather tump line I was using.

My Dad, mid 70's and still an avid tripper is a wanigan guy! This might be something!

Great idea. We never carried a wannigan when tripping but have a food box/lunch equipment box for car traveling, so now I understand the value of having a box and this is just a great way to carry tem.

I went ahead and bought two. Too old to just use the tumpline by itself any-more. Good stuff, but some directions might help. It's a complicated series of straps, webs and buckles so that even a few IKEA type pictures would be helpful. Comfortable when you get it set up though!

I have that plastic wannigan shown in the video. The harness didn't seem to fit it that well, unless it was rigged up sloppily perhaps. Does anyone have experience using it with that design of plastic wannigan? Mine is branded "Riverstones" but NRS seems to have their own version of the same thing with the same dimensions.

Who's making wanigans? Where can I get one?

A lot of people make their own. The Canadian Canoe Museum has a workshop where you make one. Ottertooth.com is a good forum to ask as well, and www.earthedfound.org/wanigans
