I am a proudly South African, doing a PhD in Australia BUT immediately after my studies, I am coming back home willingly, though I have an option to choose otherwise. There is definitely nowhere else in the world I see myself other than Joburg, my hometown. I miss the vibe, connection, our delicious natural food, beauty of our cultural diversity and obviously our beautiful land.

Mr. Blanton your South African name should be "Vus'umuzi". It is a Nguni name given to the eldest son which basically outlines his role as a Big Brother and the one who will take care of home should anything happen to the parents. He is groomed to assume the responsibilities of an Elder in the family social structure. The name in literal translation means "Raise up a home"..

I’m African American, and I don’t feel a bit of Anger & Frustration.
But there’s a level of honesty you’re leaving out about all of the opulence.
Also, I think you’d very surprised to find out that the average Black American knows more about Africa than you think. Especially when you compare us to continental Black Africans, whom many don’t even know of the existence of the western slave trade

She is groomed to be the family matriarch who is responsible for the development and well-being of her family.. The name in it's literal translation means "Daughter of the house".

This week there was a job opportunity with my current job but for Kenya. I been looking at jobs for a while now in South Africa - tried to connect with others . Trying to actually move there is not easy. I think the biggest issue is finding a job- then a job who will promote a visa .
