  • If you are selling print-on-demand products or digital designs like printables on sites like Etsy, Redbubble, Creative Fabrica or your own website (using Shopify for example) - here is a great niche idea that can be very lucrative. I've been designing and selling customized pet portraits for friends, family and strangers for years. This is a profitable niche and there are many different types of products that you can design. Cat portraits, dog portraits-or any beloved family member!
    Let the brainstorming begin as I cover cat, dog and pet portraits in this high-level overview video. I also include some resources on where you can find public domain images (which have no copyright restrictions). It's free, fun and profitable!

    Super information. Someone buys these things in the world . So we are doing business globally. Still there is a demand for these kind of digital products. Thank you so much. Me too use old version of Photoshop. That is enough.

    Thank you for sharing this! Any idea what kind of machine can be used to print the customized rings (you had an example for the wood-one but the rings look dope too!) Thanks!

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes that is a great question - I personally use a machine called an X Tool - it is a digital engraving machine that works on wood, metal, etc. You can engrave on curved surfaces - I have done glassware but I have not tried it on a ring! I appreciate the suggestion! www.xtool.com/?ref=BiP2c9htpnAtfR&

    Thank you for making and sharing this video. Would love to learn more. Can some of this be created in PowerPoint or Canva, they are the only two programs I know how to use at the moment? Thank you 🙏🏽

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you could certainly create good stuff in Canva - Power Point is mostly for creating slides but you can create graphics in Power Point too.

    Hi great video! How are you able to let customers add thier photo in Etsy for customization? I wasn't able to figure this part out. Thank you!

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey there - they wouldn't do it themselves - they would email you (through Etsy) and ask for a customized portrait. And then you would work with the client and create something based on the photo that they provide. I did this for a couple of years and it's super fun and rewarding albeit time consuming!

    Do you have to upscale the photos, to use on a t-shirt, for instance. I mean, what size of image should we ask for. I have a great idea, for customizations, but I am not sure what I have to do to the picture, to make it ready. I know cameras are better these days, but I am not sure what size file to ask for. I would need some of it for smaller images (for an all over print idea and some for the larger image dimensions, for the 4500 x 5400 size. I am just not sure what I would have to do or ask for, from the customer.

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I typically will aim for a 4500 x 5400 pixel at 300 dpi image. If I am doing a fine art print, typically bigger is better so like 11x17 inches or 8x10 inches for example. You cannot go wrong making it as large as possible.

    NGL i am a really good artist, i do pet portraits for money locally. What im trying to find out is out to make that happen on Etsy rather than the local field. Its a lot of work and i have to stay dirt cheap to stay busy. I can draw people, pets, cars, with crazy realism. Nevee went to art school and ended up a waterman. I always dreamt of trying to take my art professionally, im considering it. Any tips would be great

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is awesome - my suggestion would be to definitely mention that on Etsy (in your shop details and the listing) - you are offering a HAND-DRAWN, not artificial intelligence, one-of-a-kind detailed art portrait. That is a major selling feature!

    can I do the changes using Inkscape or photopea.

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the changes - Inkscape is a vector program (so it creates SVG files mostly) and Photopea is like Photoshop (you can create and modify images).

    Would Affinity Designer also be an option?

    • @craftystax
      @craftystax  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely - I use Affinity Designer more for SVG files (like vectors), but it is a great graphic design tool and could be used like Photoshop or Affinity Photo (or Inkscape).
